We had a fantastic night at this lovely little restaurant in Siena. We chose a selection of vegetarian dishes for the first course and then pasta for the second. The food was delicious and the service was great.

We finished off with the biscotti and amaretto.

This is a very small place so you interact with other patrons which just adds to the enjoyment of the evening.

Thank John W

Best food, value and fun evening yet in Italy. The antipasto was so filling, and modified with scrumptious vegetables for me, I could have stopped there. My husband loved the cold meats. Then came pasta dishes, one with meat, one with asparagus. Cheap but delicious house wine, and beers for my husband. Total all 40 E! We were seated with two charming and delightful regulars which made the evening perfect.

I'm just not able to explain how this place surprised me!
Just few tables and a very friendly atmosphere, the autentic italian tradition of the 50s
I can't wait to come back!

A medium sized room with three tables and a few chairs don't make a restaurant. Some cold appetizers (sardines, potato salad, hard boiled eggs, octopus salad) salami, cheese and one pasta, none of them very good.
But you will eat you food sharing the table with other people, and will pay about euros 15.
Interesting but not a restaurant and certainly not great food.
For dinner, I don't know. Before they even opened they had a sign saying "full".

Management response:Responded 9 May 2017

Mrs Janelita, We aren't a Restaurant but the Oldest Osteria in Siena, the different is that in Osteria you eat only the dealy meal, few things at few euros, the Osteria are usually small and ancient, share the tables because have few tables and it isn't possible to reserve one only for you, now the NEW OSTERIA are RESTAURANT called OSTERIA to see more tipical and cheep, but we are happy to continue our tradition in a TRUE ANCIENT OSTERIA the oldest in Siena since 1840 and one of a oldest in Italy, were the peoples of everywhere eat and drink sharing tables .....and lives....
Thanks
The Staff

It s a simple place where you can have simple plates in relatively cheap prices.

The cook and the waiter are perfect but the food is medium (we had cold plate and pici pasta with anchovies ) and the red wine is a "NO". Low quality wine can really give you the worst hangover headache you experienced so far.
