I had just about given up on seeing this, we had run out of time and i just stumbled upon it. I hurried through it... 5€ entry. I appreciated the art. Not much more to say. Enjoyed it because there was nobody inside. Zero tourists

First rate collection of Sienese art, especially strong in Gothic period. Enjoyed Simone Martini paintings a lot.

On my page the 14th century in Italy created the most amazing art ever, mixing innocence with striving to the sublime. And this museum has it all, from the 13th century, almost byzantine, through the breaking through to the late Gothic of Ducio, Simone Martini and the Lorernzetti brothers. Here and in Firenze the international Gothic style was invented and exported to Europe. Be ready to a lot of masterpieces!

This has a wonderful collection of 13th and 14th century Sienese art and is a must see attraction if that is your thing. It is also blissfully empty of tourists so you can enjoy the Duchies and Martinis in peace. It really brings home the power of Sienese art and the contrast with Florence.
