How else can you describe sitting on glass above the floor of a 2,000 year old Roman home and having beautiful food and wine in Umbria? We had a part of 6, and an early dinner at 7:00, so the restaurant was completely empty, which was cool. had it all to ourselves. We did the 4 course chef's tasting menu, paired with local wines. It was great. Favorite courses included risotto with Peccorino and fava beans, and then a beautiful stewed beef course with local vegetables. The service was impeccable, as was the food and location. We felt a little under-dressed through, having come in from hiking around the town. I'd encourage casual dress and a button down or dress. We had two kids, they loved it too. The dinner was very reasonably priced for the quality and the scenery. About 40-50 euros per person including all the wine, about 3 bottles.

A real find. Looking to extend the wine cellar they found a near perfect Room from a Roman house. They then covered this area with glass so you sit over this area while having your meal.
We chose the chefs surprise menu at €40 per person which was perfect.

We celebrated here my nephew's baptism: the whole ground floor was booked, which offer a breathtaking location for any kind of special occasion - the glass floor offers a view of the ancient Roman Domus, there is a pleasant contrast between the stone walls and the modern furniture.
They start from local products (selecting also some specialties from other regions - ie "burrata") to build creative dishes. I couldn't see the wine chart as the drinking had already been set, but from the several types of wine we were offered (prosecco, one dry red, one fresh white, a dessert wine - I still dream that Moscato) and from the collection of liquors on the walls, I'd say they're well furnished.
One special mention goes to the chef and his care in offering everyone the same treatment despite food intolerance (specifically, gluten intolerance): the appetizers selection was so wide I didn't even notice that two types of finger food were deep fried (gluten was present), and the chef made two types of gluten free bread - just like he does for the normal, gluten-containing bread.

This restaurant was recommended to us without any description, so we were really awestruck by its interiors when we arrived. The floors are glass in order to showcase the excavated Roman ruins underneath, including an incredible Roman mosaic. The antiquity is highlighted by the contemporary furniture and furnishings--quite the lovely contrast. Given this, we were equally surprised by the quality of the food! In the U.S. you can often get ambience at the cost of quality of food and vice versa, but not the case here. Delicious food of the region, well served by attentive wait staff, even though there was a group of about 20 in the next room. A special evening!

This restaurant is situated over Roman ruins, with glass floors so you can see them while you eat. The setting and decor are beautiful, all stone and neutral colors. The menu a outstanding, with both traditional and creative selection s. While it is pricier than most other restaurants, you are getting good value for your money. Three course meal is about $60 with wine per person.
