Should be a 5 star not 4, for sure! Located in beautiful Gubbio is this beautiful hotel. We got the best service from Julio from the moment we walked in. Everything is immaculate, from the windows in your room to all common areas. We loved their breakfast outside. Loved their spa areas, purchased swimwear which was very reasonably priced. Enjoyed dinner in their restaurant. Free parking. And, it's a nice walk to the town center. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: We had both suite and a regular room, and they were both great.

The Cappuccini Hotel is about the best hotel in Gubbio. But it has some issues. It's not in the center of town, so it you are mobility challenged, forget it or plan on a shuttle into the town center. Then again, it's only about a half mile walk to town so it you can do it, stay here. The hotel is a throw back to the 70's. The decor needs a refresh. That said, it is spotlessly clean and well taken care of. The rooms are spacious but as others noted the AC is only available during certain months - call ahead to check if you have concerns. The hotel has a MASSIVE amount of meeting spaces, especially considering that it only has 96 rooms. Parking is free! Staff is helpful and nice. All in all, this is a great place to stay in Gubbio if you want/need a more "corporate" style hotel. Nothing wrong with that. But if you seek a more boutique experience, stay at the other Gubbio hotels.

As part of the small and laxuary hotels we were disappointed!!!
The hotel itself,entrance-lobby-pool-sitting areas which were many all around , all was quite well designed and the front desk were very friendly and quick. But the rooms, we had two-and the halls were horrible, old, old carpets all around, badly smelling, tiny rooms-and so unexpected. Another disappointment was the breakfast- hardly any opposition,no vegetables at all, one warm plate with scrumbeld eggs which looked unwanted to be tried and no other choice, very poor selection of cheese, and at total didn't worth to be paid for.
The last bad experience were the many bees that were all around the pool area and the breakfast balcony area, that didn't give us peace and also at the end stinged one of our girls .
Maybe if it wasn't from that category of hotels and if we didn't know about other hotels from this category we would not expect nothing.

When we stayed here last September we knew we'd be back, though somewhat sooner than expected! This time we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed. The bedroom was the same (comfortable bed, good linen powerful shower). The food was good at lunch and evening meal (which we ate outside) and the prices didn't seem too high compared with Gubbio centre. The staff were as attentive as ever and always prepared to go the extra mile for you (e.g. the barman made me a peach tea from scratch when he didn't have any pre-made...delicious!) with the exception of the breakfast staff (see gripe 1 below). The spa treatments were great and this time used the pool, which was large and good fun. And because of the heat we used the underground car park which kept the car nice and cool and there's direct access to the hotel.

However, not a 5 star review this time.

1) the attentive attitude did not extent to the staff waiting on at breakfast. Much of the time they ignored you (or tried to appear busy when there were so few guests). I had to insist on them preparing a cafe latte rather than drinking the filter coffee which they wanted me to have and they were very slow to replenish empty serving dishes.

2) there is constant awful "musak" played everywhere (even in the lift, and garage). One evening we were sitting outside and for once found some peace...but then the one CD was started again. Please change the music (or embrace the peace and quiet!)

This is an amazing hotel! Wonderful staff, beautiful accommodations and incredible food. We were traveling with 8 high school students and the staff made all of us feel very welcome. The hotel has an awesome collection of art and artifacts that are museum worthy and worth a walk through the hall ways to see them all. The restaurant has 5 star food and service. I would love to go back!

Room Tip: Any room on any floor is a good one.
