To be fair we walked up to the Rose Garden on a very hot August day 30C. By the time we reached the Rose Garden, all we were fit for was a seat and a coffee with some delicious cake from the cafe. There are plenty of seats with a good view of the city and photo opportunities abound. Add in the amazing variety of roses and the sitting statue of Albert Einstein and this is not to be missed.
I enjoyed my time in the garden, it was because and peaceful, there was a good view of the old city from there , I enjoyed it and recommend it!
An easy trip by No 10 bus. Great surroundings for a stroll in the fresh air. Highlight is the breathtaking view over the old city and beyond. You could spend all day there as there are usefully placed benches. There is a smart café/restaurant there as well with takeaway facilities.
all these medieval roofs of the old city & its churches, a peninsula surrounded by the Aare river, are quite impressive. the government gardeners do a great job keeping the garden-like park & all the flowers in good condition.
amazing overview of the city down below. beautifully kept and very peaceful. actually a nice little gem in the hustle bustle of the city.
