The Hotel Krone is conveniently located in Zurich with immediate access to the trams. The rooms are well appointed and many remodeled. The onsite restaurant provides an excellent breakfast buffet. Was planning to have a two day stopover in Zurich on the way from Italy to the UK. As traffic/parking in Zurich seems to have become more difficult since my student days there I was looking for a hotel with GUARANTEED parking, a reasonable price and not too far from the Centre.
Parking is good albeit in some of the places they have a bit tight if you have a very large car.
Were assigned a room (301) which really looked a bit small. The night portier did an excellent job to show/put us into another room (34), it was in the new annexe, much more spacious and bright, has kitchenette (not used) - I guess for long-stay rental. 2 comments - shower curtain too short, so easy to splash water on floor (they said it shrinks over time when washed), also the sink in the washhand basin was bit congested, so water took while to empty - mentioned but no immediate action.
Breakfast VERY good, the ladies do a great job, also the Concierge.
One very good sapect - two tramlines stop right in front of hotel, so you get to town centre in next to no time, even all the way through Bahnhofstrasse and the Lake

good hotel but the staff was RUDE. it was actually shocking how little they seemed to care about anything. the rooms are very small and the bathroom doors are basically see through so just beware of that going in.
gutes Hotel, aber das Personal war unhöflich. Es war tatsächlich schockierend, wie wenig sie sich um irgendetwas zu kümmern schienen. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein und die Badezimmertüren sind im Grunde durchsichtig, also passen Sie auf, dass Sie nicht hineingehen.

I apologise that you were not able to experience this in the same way. Regarding the room size, we have different categories at different prices, so there is something for everyone. This was a first trip to Zurich for my wife and I. There are plenty of other hotels, but I won't ever find out, because this one was near perfect. Tram strops directly in front of hotel, and it was a painless four minute ride to the "Old Town" and harbor/main train station. The staff was super professional, courteous, and very helpful. I never felt we were putting them out with our requests. Breakfast was superb, best on our European vacation. Room was modern, clean, and well equipped. We had some issues with air conditioning (weak) but it may have just been our expectation. Staff tried hard to get it working, and brought us a fan as well. If I could take a 1/2 star off, I would, but it was not enough to warrant dropping to four stars. I would highly recommend the Hotel Krone.

Stayed for two nights. There were three of us and we got a lovely room with two double beds. The staff at the front office were exceptionally nice and helpful. We ate one meal at the restaurant and it was superb. The tram stop was at the doorstep and Bahnhoffstrasse was just a short ride away.

This was my second trip to Zurich (in less than 6 months), and I was looking for a quiet hotel this time for a longer stay of 8 nights. I was not disappointed! I had room number 15, which was in a separate building in their courtyard (connected by a walkway), away from the main street/tram. The room was very clean and smart looking, all amenities worked (lights, plumbing, A/C). An electric tea kettle was provided with an assortment of teas and instant coffee, and there was a small refrigerator. My bathroom came with a small, corner shower with a curtain and drain in the floor. Water pressure was excellent with on-demand hot water.
The front staff was exceptionally cordial, helpful and spoke perfect English.The location for this hotel is outstanding: right on the train/tram 11 or 14, direct to the Zurich HBF in 5 minutes!
I did not use the restaurant at all, but it looked nice and inviting from the outside.
The only improvements I could wish for are the following: 1) a small microwave oven; 2) silverware (fork, soup spoon, butter knife); 3) an extra handtowel and washcloth. Would *definitely* stay here again! Thank you.
