A quiet Monday morning we took a walk ,all was very quiet,we enjoy the peace of the streets and we could not stop discovering small windows her and there with flowers, secrets doors and very small river flows.
Once on the market place we could have some traditional fish and chips food, staple food here.
Nice walk and nice way to discover this student city.

Maastrict is a gem of a city, with the old buildings dominating it's landscape. It's definitely worth the trip to do touristy stuff like exploring the churches, the beautiful ancient walls and plenty of vendors for souvenirs, eating or drinking. A fabulous city!

A wonderful city in Netherlands which is very close to Germany’s Aachen city. It has a sweet charm and gives you a feeling of medieval Europe with cobblestone marrow pathways and old buildings. Perfect setting for a great education and life.

One of my favourite cities. I live here since September and really enjoy the city. It is nice and small but also has a lot of shops for shopping.
Beware: shops are open on Sundays too and the city is flooded with German shopping-tourists on the day. Also, if you are into clubbing and parties it is not the city for you. We have Complex and that is it. ;)

We selected Maastricht for a city break and went by train. We had had reports, that Maastricht is a lively, interesting town with many shops, restaurants and heritage buildings, a bit un-Dutch in atmosphere, and we were not disappointed. All those reports were true. Shopping streets in abundance, not with the uniform fare of the large Dutch chains, but many local specialty shops. What really was amazing, was the "Dominicanen" bookshop, located in a large church building. Many restaurants and cafes to choose from and interesting squares as the Market Square and the Vrijthof, in this season taken over by the Christmas Market. Besides the town center, other areas as "Wijck" are interesting. Time ran out to soon, so Maastricht merits a second visit.
