My new husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon. I am a roller coaster enthusiast and really wanted to visit de Efteling, but the prices at the official Efteling hotel were a bit too steep for me. I decided to try this hotel as an alternative and I'm glad I did. It was extremely close to the park -- about five minutes' walk. Since a variety of bus lines serve the park, it's also easy to get the bus to further destinations. (We got the bus to and from 's Hertogenbosch to reach the train station.) Our room was small but we expected that and it was adequate. We had the one room with a balcony, which overlooks the front of the hotel and provides a pleasant street view. The furnishings are very old-fashioned but we considered that part of the charm. We were mostly there to go to the park, not hang around the room, and it was fine for our purposes. The innkeepers speak English well and readily switched back and forth to speak to us and the other, Dutch-speaking guests. (It amazes me how the Dutch can do that so well!) They were also happy to hold our bags for us on our day of departure so we could get another half day in at de Efteling. They provided a map of town, advice about restaurants, and sold us tickets to the park so we did...More
