This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel (same room, incidentally) in the last few years. I booked online, which was very easy. Vieveke (amongst others) was very prompt in communicating with me through email and this made the process of securing the room we needed much easier (we were a party of five - 2 adults and 3 children). When we arrived, Ruud (the guy with the thick northern English accent despite being 100% Dutch!) saw to it that our bags were secured so that we could walk the 3-400 metres to de Efteling. When we returned later in the afternoon, we were met by Sandra (I think/hope), who was very diligent in explaining how the hotel worked, where breakfast was, the kid's playroom and the complimentary tea and coffee. This is what we love about this hotel - yes the rooms are very clean and comfortable and the proximity to the fun park is great; but the staff are outstanding and make for a fantastic stay. Our room was as described - very clean, comfortable and quiet. We slept well after our day at de Efteling and then headed down to the dining room to find a vast array of options for breakfast.

Apparently, a new hotel (from the same owners) is being built about 50m up the road (near the Albert Heijn). We sincerely hope that the standard and the culture of Hotel de Kroon does not suffer as a result as we think this is a great boutique, family hotel that is made even better by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The next time we intend visiting de Efteling we will stay at de Kroon for sure - so here's hoping it remains very much the same!

Room Tip: Convenient for Efteling; parking for guests; be quick as there are limited rooms - especially for families like ours (5 people).

Dear Sir Langford,

Thank you so much for your lovely words. We are very happy that you have had a pleasant stay. Glad to hear that you want to come this way again!

Of course we ensure that nothing changes at Hotel de Kroon. We also want to give you the same feeling in our new hotel (GuestHouse Hotel).

We always tell Ruud that he is not 100% Dutch, luckily you can confirm this with us! Unfortunately my name is Sanne and not Sandra, but Sandra is also a nice name.

Thanks again for the praising words, we hope to see you again!

Kind regards,

Hotel de Kroon
Sanne

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while taking the children to Efteling, which is a 10 minute walk away.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming, full of practical tips and recommendations of where to go.

The family room was comfortable with two single beds and a bunk bed for the children. Downstairs, there is a coffee machine offering complimentary drinks, and a play room with table football and air hockey.

Breakfast was continental, and there was a good choice of food.

There is plenty of parking, and the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the smallish town centre which had a few places to eat.

Stayed for two nights with our two teenagers and can honestly say this hotel was perfect for us. The room was large with two double beds and one single. The ceiling fan kept us cool during the night and the en suite was spacious. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of croissants, fresh bread and a range of drinks. If all that wasn't enough, you could help yourself to free tea and coffee in the hotel reception area. There was even a games room with table football and plenty to keep young children entertained. The staff were friendly and they gave us lots of good tips for our visit to the Efteling. You can also buy park tickets through them. Across the road is a cafe serving typical Dutch fast food and the supermarket Albert Heijn is two minutes' walk behind the hotel. We would definitely return.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights due to it's proximity to Efteling. It was a perfect location, being only 5 minutes walk from the theme park and bus stop. We travelled from Amsterdam Schiphol on a train to Den Bosch, then took the 300 bus to Kaatsheuvel.

From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome due to the friendly English speaking staff who were super helpful. The room was basic but had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The bed was softer than I prefer but only a minor point, as it was still comfortable.

The buffet breakfast included was the usual continental style (nothing hot) with plenty to fill us up before a day in the park! The hotel had excellent WiFi in the rooms. There was a supermarket around the corner and several restaurants nearby.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near Efteling. Lovely friendly staff and a super convenient location.

It was a nice hotel, placed not far from Efteling. There are a supermarket and a Cafee nearby. There is a good breakfast at the hotel and also you can by cheap tickets for Efteling. There are also small tables at the lobby, hot drinks at any time. We got a good service.
There was a free parking place. The rooms are a 2nd floor and there is no elevator. Morover, there was a nice play room for children.
