What better way to welcome the Year of the Dog than having hot pot? Taste of Culture's hot pots come in three varieties (beef, chicken, lobster), with an amazing array of side dishes that wait to be cooked in spicy (not really) or mild stock. Creative eating at its best!

We pitched up at around 6pm and the restaurant already had a large group of young people sat at two large round tables enjoying what seemed like a staff party. Although a little loud at times they added to the atmosphere.

We were greeted by a pleasant young waitress who showed us to a table for two and given the menus and ordered our drinks.

We ordered several dishes which came at just the right pace and all were beautifully cooked and presented piping hot.

Several other customers entered and were served with the same efficiency that we were by the same waitress, she was fantastic and very adept at keeping on top of things. It was not until after over an hour did she get the help of another waitress but she still did the lions share.

It is a small establishment and not much to look at from the outside but well worth a visit if you are in the Leidsedwarsstraat area of Amsterdam.

I have been in this place with my friends. The waitresses were not so nice and the waiting times were definitely too long considering the the restaurant was not full. The food is very good though, and the portions are huge. You could also share it without any problem because they were too much for one person. In conclusion, I definitely recommend this place if you’re not looking for a fancy place and you want to eat a lot of good Chinese food.

I lived some time in Taiwan so I can tell whats good Chinese food.
this is delicious and tastes nearly the same like in China / Taiwan.

we tried dumpling mix and several others - all great
I was astonished how authentic it tasted

prices are high - fried rice or noodles for around 15 euros?

the floor area near the toilets and in the toilets are very greasy so you slide around there

On a street filled with large restaurants with outdoor seating, this small restaurant does not stand out with its single door. Look for the big yellow sign above the door. We have eaten here twice and both times were delicious. My husband loves the beef with cashews dish and I like the chicken in a sweet and sour sauce. The only problem I had was when we ordered this last time we asked if vegetable fried rice came with the dinners we ordered, and were told it did. Then when we went to pay the bill, there was an additional charge of 3.50 Euros per person for it. It could have been a language barrier, and everything else was good. We'll definitely return. They also have free wifi, so that was a plus also.
