Having just returned from a couples break in Amsterdam we were first time residents at The Hoxton however we will definitely be back! I booked the hotel based on tripadvisor reviews and it was everything we expected it to be....and then some! Let’s start with the location. Roughly a 15 minute walk from central station and extremely close to Dam Square. The good thing about Amsterdam is that even though most attractions are a short walk away there are always plenty of places to stop for refreshments along the way! When we arrived the hospitality we received at The Hoxton was 5*. Check in was quick and efficient and once you get that sorted you can truly appreciate the decor and ambience that has been carefully designed. It really is the ‘hang out’ place for trendy city slickers who are happy to take up residence in the large bar/ restaurant with their Mac books....the free WiFi clearly appeals. We headed for the bar and were greeted by friendly staff who were only to happy to rustle up some cocktails that weren’t on the menu. We stayed in a cosy room, free water and milk in the mini fridge and of course the breakfast bag which we hung on the hook outside our door for the next morning. Chilled orange juice, granola and yoghurt and a banana were promptly delivered to set you up for the day. The room has everything...More
