the hotel room's were very small and the stairs very, very steep but apart from that it was in an ideal area as everything you want to see is within walking distance.
- Free Wifi
Having been warned about the steep staircase on the Nadia website it was still a surprise. However, we were met before we had ascended by a friendly young man who took our luggage. Tess on reception performed the official signing in routine with ease and directed us to the flower festooned breakfast room where we were given a welcome drink. Our room was tiny with 2ft 6inch twin beds and shower room. Functional and adequate except for insufficient lighting. Much appreciated were the small fridge, safe, telephone and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfasts were self service continental style with toast on request and drinks served with the familiar Nadia charm. On departure our luggage was stored until we were ready to be transported to the airport. Again we were directed to the breakfast room where we were plied with offers of refreshment. The staff carried our luggage down to the pavement and wished us a safe and pleasant journey.
To sum up the Nadia in one sentence; a clean and friendly hotel suited to the more energetic slim visitor. Jean and Annie.
Warm welcome by NADIA Manager, very good breakfast with cannal view, well located to reach Dam square/red light district and also to Jordaan neighbourghoud.
Just spent a prolonged week-end in Amsterdam. We are a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 children aged 11, 15 and 17 - and Hotel Nadia was absolutely perfect for this purpose. With a very central location we had most of the sightseeing within walking distance, Anne Franks house across the street, shopping and strolling in "the nine streets" just around the corner and very good restaurants at reasonable prices on the other side of the canal in Jordaan. The location couldn't be better!
Very cosy hotel with small rooms and steep stairs - what else would you expect in an old house by the canal in Amsterdam? The breakfastroom has it's own charm and though small the personal manged every morning to seat the 5 of us at the same table.
Extremely good and helpful service. We booked our rooms on the website and a with a phonecall in advance we were sure of rooms on the same floor - with a special view for the two "old" ones. We will keep Hotel Nadia in mind next time we come to Amsterdam.
The Nadia Hotel was as nice as it described on its website. Found the staff really pleasant and our room was clean and comfortable. This Hotel was in an excellent location, all the main sites were within walking distant. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Hotel. The only negative would be the long spiral staircase that you have to climb up with your suitcases. However a member of staff did carry my suitcase down the staircase for me after checking out. Would definitely recommend this Hotel.
I booked a room at the Hotel Nadia because it was recommended by Frommers. The hotel itself is nice, but we had several problems. The online reservation website asks you to specify what time you're arriving. This is more for their benefit then yours, which is important information for travellers coming in on overnight flights. We had to wait several hours before a room was ready in their very tiny cafe, where there were no seats available. Also, the very long, steep flight of stairs up to reception can be a bit daunting for weary travelers and very unwelcoming.
