We wanted to see the 19 century Dutch paintings. Mariya took us to three museums: Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, The Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo and The Mesdag Collection in The Hague. We saw an amazing collection of Dutch, French and Italian paintings among the others. Thanks to Mariya’s clear and short explanation we had enough time and opportunity to ask questions. Next to Van Gogh’s work and life story, Dutch landscapes was striking to me above all, as the works by The Hague School master like J. Israel.
Our three days of museum visit became also a kind of city tours with culinary highlights, because of Mariya's choice of restaurants and cafes which we visited before or after the museum visits.
As The Kröller-Müller Museum is in the dunes (wild and mountainous Dutch countryside;)) Mariya managed bikes for us to cycle in the dunes, around the museum. Which eventually became an exceptional day, also thanks to the nice weather. It was funny to see Mariya with her elegant dress on the bike, cycling like a really Dutch;))
So, if you are jealous of our this experience with Mariya, just call her.
