Location, decor and open kitchen promised a great experience and we were not disappointed! Our wonderful waiter suggested a 'surprise' menu with number/type of courses of our choice (accommodating likes, dislikes & allergies). We opted for 2 starters & a main. Squid toast amuse bouche was the perfect kick-off. Plaice with an array of taste sensations (incl. delicious spiced cream) was faultless. Oyster tasting selection was fun...and we discovered a new favourite ('Dutch Flat'...who knew?!). Sea bream main course with mashed potato & almond 'truffles' was delicious. All wines well-matched. There was even a surprise mini-dessert hidden with the coffee finale! Can't fault anything. Go if you get the chance!

I love seafood. I love this restaurant. I took my love on our first official date here. It was a great success.

The food is outstanding – they live up to the reputation and expectations, no question about that. I shall not go any further – simply stellar.
However… there is a ‘however’. A dinner here is an experience and a culinary journey (do try chef’s menu – superb!), and here comes the however; as many reviewers already noticed it just takes time. Now, this is not the fault of staff (these guys and gals are top notch!) it is just how it is run. In our case it took FOUR (4) hours (chef’s menu and desert, all of which was heavenly) and not that we were slow.
What would have been one of the most pleasant evenings, turned out to be a bit of a long ordeal. After 9 hours in the office it is really difficult to endure another 4h session. As we observed we would have been way happier if we could have wrapped up the experience in say 2h (which is long anyway).
Price-wise – not that bad (oki – this is a high end place, so I wouldn’t expect a 9 person family for dinner, but for business it was reasonable); full menu with drinks and pudding set us back on average 70euro/head.

Excellent food and service, friendly staff. I loved the whole experience. We choose the 4 course surprise menu and it was worth trying. The food was really delicious.

Ate here last Thursday. Meal was really excellent, we had some very nice Viognier to drink, Our party was about 16 people, and the delivered the food on time, and happily told us what it was in English and Dutch for each course.
The atmosphere was quite lively, I am not a fan of hushed quiet tones in these places, a meal should be a talking point.

I loved the melon and Tuna starter in particular.

I couldn't fault the place, and look forward to going back another time I am in Rotterdam.
