Last weekend we stayed in the Rubenshof in Antwerp. The room (room 34) was very noisy, and sooooo full of dead mosquito body's against the walls. It was horrible.
When we complained at the woman who was managing the hotel, she told us that she knew that there were so many mosquitos in the room. She told us that we had to ask for an device that would ware the mosquitos, bit late right.
So bad service, would not recommend you to go there.

Room Tip: Dont pick room 34, full of mosquitos.

What a lovely hotel! The downstairs is beautiful, and the bedrooms are really big! Yes the decor in the bedrooms is plain but they are a good size, clean and the bathroom is lovely! The lady on reception is friendly and helpful. The location is very good with ample, cheap parking on the street outside (free on Sundays). The breakfast isn't fantastic but there was enough choice to keep you going. Overall a lovely little hotel in a good location, would definitely recommend!

While usually you do not spend a lot of time on hotel's premises - in case of Rubenshof you'd simply love to spend evenings sitting in one of its halls: one evening in a hall of classicism style, another - in a hall built of rococo style... Hotel's interiors are truly splendid!
I agree, that breakfast is not as fulfilling, as it could be, but the whole idea is to enjoy it sitting in real Art Nuovo dining room; and you would have quite substantial dinners in Antwerpen anyway, so you would not need a big breakfast.
Hotel's staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is good, with only 1-minute walk from tram stop, 3-minutes walk from the Art Museum, 15 minutes walking distance from the center and walking distance from the Zuid railway station.
I do not usually visit the same city twice, but if I will ever return to Antwerpen I'll definitely stay at Rubenshof again!

Stayed here for 2 nights driving across Europe. Reception is a beauty to behold, paintings on every inch of wall and ceiling. Simply stunning. A very warm welcome, receptionist spoke excellent English and was very accommodating. Short walk to the centre. Cheap parking outside the hotel.

We were given the loft room, up around 7 or 8 flights of stairs, unfortunately no elevator. Pretty exhausting even for us in our mid 20's! Our room was very plain, unlike the beautiful reception and some of the pictures on the website. However, it was exciting watching a thunderstorm from the loft window!

We were looking for a hotel for a night in transit. This came up and we are glad of the experience. It obviously was a grand building at some point but is now tired. However, the linen was clean, the bathroom immaculate and the bed comfortable. The public rooms point back to more luxury than is currently on offer. The plumbing (if only by the smell in the hallways) is in need of attention. On balance I would recommend this hotel.
