We have been going to La Figuière for many years, to enjoy their good value lunch, or show visitors how good Belgian cooking can be. So, when friends came to visit in August and offered to take us out, it was logical to go there, particularly as some other places were shut at the time. The setting is always cosy, and there was a nice amuse-bouche, but the menu selection was limited and rather standard, and the prices suddenly beyond anything we recognised. It was something of an embarrassment when the large bill finally arrived for our visitors to pay.
