We were in Brussels for a day and a half and that was plenty. A little dull and not as picturesque as other large European cities.

Stayed in the Istanbul room. A little more cramped than I had hoped, but the price was right. When we were there seemed to be some new staff occasionally who didn't know the neighborhood very well when we were asking about some local restaurants. Also, we could not get the wi fi in our room and no one seemed to know why. But overall it was fine. Self serve breakfast was included and quite extensive. They even get a taxi for you to the airport (they call it the shuttle) that they then charge to your bill for less cost than a regular taxi which was very nice. Only gripe was that since we were only there for one full day, it was a bit inconvenient that our room was not made up until after 4PM. We were out all day and expected a nice fresh room and then had to leave about 45 minutes later so they could do it It also appeared that the air conditioning went off at night so you woke up feeling very hot. Could just be that it was very hot at the end of June when we were there. But all in all, a very good value for the money if you have to be in Brussels.

We couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was friendly (they even let me borrow an umbrella when it was raining). The rooms are incredible. We stayed in the Istanbul room, but there is definitely a temptation to try to go back and experience all of the different rooms. The detail that they put into designing each room to look like a different world city is very unique. Note that they do not like food in the rooms due to the irreplaceable fabrics. Free internet. Good breakfast. Prime location right next to many sites. I wouldn't have changed anything about the stay.

We recently returned from a 15 day trip to Belgium and Holland beginning and ending at this charming hotel in Brussels. Although there is a metro station a few steps from the hotel, we had Michael pick us up at the airport (money well spent after a long night of flying and crying babies). Hotel Welcome is unique and charming and the owners and staff couldn't be more helpful. We even got tips on trains to and from our other destinations. We spent three nights in Istanbul and our final night was in the Congo. What fun. It is conveniently located and surrounded by great restaurants. My favorite was La Villette (which we went to twice) where the food was wonderful and we were treated like we had been customers for years. If you want a big chain experience, then Hotel Welcome is not for you. If you want a small, colorful, friendly place, then Hotel Welcome is just right for you. I hope that we'll be going back soon.

I had a great time at Hotel Welcome, but what a hassle it was. Our 3 month old baby tagged along, so the hotel had set up a crib in our deluxe room (babies are only allowed in the deluxe rooms), which rendered the whole room (China room, avoid it) completely useless, because the crib blocked the stairs to a nice attic. Furthermore, the elevator only went up to the third floor, forcing us to take the stairs (with the huge stroller we have) every time we went up to the room. After inquiry, we found out the deluxe rooms ("only deluxe rooms can house babies!") are all on the fourth floor.

Yes, you got it right, elevator to third, only children allowed on the fourth floor.

The hotel personel offered us a stay in the suite for a night (Egyptian room, exceptional) but we had to leave the room before my wife and baby left, so of the 48 hours my wife was there we were moving rooms about 4 hours. A little silly really.

Cool thing happened the next day: the owner offered me a bottle of champagne. It was wonderful!

Room Tip: Egypt room is great, china room sucks.

Dear Guest,

First of all we thank you for this message, it is always imprtant to us to have feed backs in order for us to constantly improve our service.
However may I inform you that we have Deluxe rooms on EACH FLOORS.
As usual the staff tried to satisfy each clients but regarding the hotel capacity and the occupation it is not always easy. This is why you got offered a suite for the night you were staying with your wife and child (they only stayed for 2 days) but due to our occupancy we could not give you the suite for the entire stay and the reason you got some champagne in order to show you our best will.
We are pleased to hear that you had a wonderfull time in the Hotel and hopefully we will welcome you again.

We were shown two rooms, and ended up with the larger one. Very interesting theme, nice beds. The room was very clean and well furnished. But the best was the staff - the man at the front desk was excellent. Checkout the next morning was quick and easy. The breakfast was great - fresh fruit, cereal, breads. Twenty steps out the front door to the underground St. Catherine station. Walk to the Grand Place in ten minutes. I would stay here again.
