Open in Brussels for more than 25 years, Garcia is the most traditional Portuguese pastry shop in Belgium.
From the decorations till the manufacturing of their pastries, everything kept the old "recipes" that we can find in a Portuguese cooking book from the 50's.
From Bifanas to the famous Pastel de Nata, you can find here the best Portugal has to offer to your palate.

Pastelaria Garcia is one of the nicest places in Brussels to enjoy an espresso and some home made pastries. As the best pizzas are made in Italy, the best pasteis de nata are definitely made in Portugal. So don't expect the same thing when entering a Portuguese cafe in Brussels. Yet Pastelaria Garcia is not expensive, has decent coffee and very tasty pasteis de nata. The closest you'll get to the real thing in Belgium.

Tip: They usually stay open after closing time.

How come nobody mentioned the amazing bread so far? :) You must try it! Besides the absolutely delicious pastries, they have a nice variety, from corn to wheat bread. Extremely tasty, like home!
The cafe next door can become extremely crowded during the weekends, but the quality of the products will comfort you! :) As for the bread, sometimes it's better to "book" it in advance, otherwise you risk not to find any more bread late during the weekends.
Fair prices for Brussels for all their products, including drinks.
