Atmosphere and service is very good and food is ok, but no reason for extraordinary high prices. The starters were much better than the main dishes. One positive remark: prices for drinks were reasonable which is not always the case in Brussels. I will definitely eat my next noodle soup at a different location.

Samourai is considered by many to be the best Japanese restaurant in Brussels.
I don't know about that, but it's for sure a typical place, serving very good, fresh and quality food.
The restaurant is located in an uninspiring rundown 'shopping mall' in a downtown street that is undergoing upgrading, and there something old fashioned about the restaurant itself too. It's not a design or trendy place, with lots of lights and flashy service.
The service can vary from good to annoying, with waiters having zero flexibility and caring little about your requests.
I have been there several times the last years, most of the time upon invitation from a client who likes going there, and the lunch box, which we take almost always, is a good deal (endamame, miso soup, 4 different small dishes/boxes and plain white rice).
Eating a la carte is a good alternative if you want to explore the many typical dishes they serve.
Prices are rather high.
It's a restaurant with a very own personality, and is appreciated by business people and Japan lovers.

We came here for sushi, and were a little surprised that the menu options were fairly limited. The menu is broader Japanese food rather than just sushi, but it was all really good. The service was also excellent. The main issue, as others have said, is that the prices are fairly steep, even for Japanese food. It's still worth visiting if you don't mind the cost.

The restaurant is managed by Japanese, but the taste is Europeanised. Food is good but not great specially for the high prize of the bill. Count 80euros/pp.

My wife took me here for my bday and I am happy she did!

All ingredients in this restaurant come from Japan, so they told us, which is one reason why it is so expensive. Staff too, are mostly Japanese, unlike in most other Japanese restaurants in Europe.

We went for the set menu at Eur 75 pp. It was good quality and quantity, raw fish and cooked food too! And also an extra tempura for eur 20.

Service is polite and efficient.

We had a table upstairs, it was quiet and almost cosy, good for a birthday lunch!

In the price of the menu you get a drink which we chose to be sake. All in all it's money (a lot of it) well spent!
