We had travelled overnight to Bruges by ferry from Hull then stayed just the one night here. What a lovely characterful hotel. The entrance hall, dining area & reception area are full of lovely antiques & quirky items (especially the egg boiler as everyone keeps mentioning) The owners & staff are extremely friendly & helpful. Our room (39) was very spacious & clean, which is all you need to explore this beautiful city. We heard the clock strike at 8am but who goes away to a beautiful place like Bruges & then want to lie in bed after 8am? Not us. The breakfast was fabulous, we couldn't have asked for any more to eat - the 'continental' breakfast wow, certainly set us up for our day of exploring.

Room Tip: Our room ( room 39) had a side view of the canal, but not directly looking over it.

Stayed for 3 nights beginning of July, traveled Eurostar with a change at Brussels Midi, pretty straightforward. Taxi to Bryghia, 10 euros including tip.
Arrived around 6.30pm rang the bell within seconds someone appeared booked in within 5 minutes of arriving in room unpacking.
Room was on the small side as was the bathroom, in the room was a flat screen television (never switched it on) and tea coffee making facilities, the size was not a problem if you are going to spend a lot of time in your room when visiting Bruges not much point in going.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent, love the egg boiler, plenty of choice and continually topped up if running low on any items.
The service was top class, very friendly and helpful. It is an old hotel and has character, if you are looking for bland open spaces with loads of disinterested staff this hotel is not for you. This is small warm and friendly place none of the corporate trash you will find in a chain hotel.
Bruges is a lovely city and well worth spending your day and evening wandering through passageways and squares, hence no problem with a small room it was only for sleeping in. The location was ideal to see the sights from, 5 to 10 minutes even at my walking speed and you were in the main market square.
If you prefer to lie in may be best to request a room at the rear, we were at the front did get some traffic noise plus a clock striking 8am, being warm nights we slept with a window open so it sounded even louder. We were getting up anyway not a problem for us but if you want those extra minutes of sleep it might be.
The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel, a very relaxed atmosphere.
Would I stay again most definitely, recommend it, certainly.

We stayed in this hotel for two days. The location was central and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is next to a canal and you pass plenty of shops as you take the short walk walk into the central square. Breakfast was tasty. I was very impressed with the egg boiler ! Our room was enormous, clean and comfortable. The en-suite loo was spacious and clean. The decor of the hotel felt authentic and stylish.

I cannot overstate the helpfulness of the staff. They were wonderful.

This small family-run hotel, in a building with history, is very pleasant for a B&B stay in Bruges. The entrance/lounge and dining room are nicely kept and decorated and the buffet continental breakfast is good. Our room was quite adequate, though the pillows were not the best.
The hotel is in a quiet corner of town, but just a short and pleasant walk to the centre. If you're interested in art history, the walk route takes in statues of Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling, the most famous of the Flemish Primitives.

Visited Bruges for the first time. This hotel is brilliantly situated near to all that's going on, but sited in a quiet location. The hotel is quaint and cosy. Our room was spotless and comfortable. We had a view over the canal, it was lovely to see families of Moor hens, ducks and the occasional swan swimming by. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, we would visit again.
