A lovely hotel which is in the process of being refurbed while we were there. This however, did not affect the time we spent in the hotel.
Our room was modern & clean with a mini bar.
Breakfast consisted of all the usual continental food, also included scrambled eggs, boil your own eggs & bacon. You definately could not starve!
The swimming pool, although it is small it is well worth taking a dip into. Towels are provided, which is definately a bonus.
Location fantastic, turn left out of the hotel & just follow the road which takes you to the main square. Shop, Eat & Drink to your hearts content. Things are expensive but that's what you get with the euro!

We normally stay in one of the larger hotel chains in Bruges, but they only had a smoking room left. We were really pleased to find The Flanders for a good price, and were very happy with the standard of accomodation. The family room was very spacious, with comfy beds, very clean and a good selection of TV channels. Our children enjoyed the pool, a compact facility, but a bonus in a small hotel. Happy hour in the bar was most enjoyable, nice friendly people, very laid back and great value. Breakfast was in a very nice dining area, with a good selection of hot & cold food on offer. We would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: room 120 is at the rear of the building, which is away from any bar noise, but doesnt have such a nice view. It is near the pool, which is handy.

My wife and I stayed here for our 2nd wedding anniversary - we booked a luxury double room which turned out to be much better than we expected.

The room was very modern with real wood flooring, a large flat screen tv, separate bathroom & toilet, mini bar, huge bed and a mini-safe (free of charge). We arrived at the hotel at 11am which we knew would be too early to check-in but thought we may be able to leave our bags at the hotel and return later. To our surprise, our room was ready and we were allowed to check-in! The lady on reception provided us with a map (so no need to buy your own anywhere) and also pointed out some of the places to see around the city. She was very pleasant, welcoming and spoke great English.

The location was also great - we knew it wasn't exactly in the centre, but it was easy to find and was only a 10min stroll to the main square.

The hotel bar was really nice - especially during the 4-6pm happy hour (half price on selected drinks) where you could get a beer for 1.6euro! It was fairly quiet during other times, but was cosy next to the fire. The barmen were friendly and also kept the free peanuts topped up! Even outside the happy hour, the drinks were reasonably priced.

We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. Bruges is a lovely city and we will return. The breakfast in the hotel was plentiful and kept us going way past midday. There were, cereals, fresh fruit, fruit cocktail, scrambled egg, bacon, toast, boiled eggs (which you could cook yourselves in the handy boiler), croissants, pastries, yoghurts, many types of bread, hams, cheeses... the list goes on. Hot drinks were available and there was also a selection of fresh fruit drinks.

Top marks from me!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Arrived a lot later than expected due to travel delays so probably weren't in the best of moods but found the reception staff very friendly and helpful. Gave us a city map and pointed out places of interest and nearby restaurants. Unfortunately, there was some sort of mix up between laterooms.com that we booked the room through and the hotel itself, as we had booked the junior suite and instead were given a superior plus. This was a nice room with a good sized bed but just not quite as special as what we had anticipated. Beware of what kind of room you book as every brochure/ site/ member of staff call all the rooms something different. We had booked the junior suite but the confirmation came through as luxury double and that's why they gave us superior plus. Also, note that these rooms are very dark (similar to a Malmaison hotel). The bed was very comfy but the rooms during the night were extremely hot even after turning the heating down/ off.
Hotel is in a good location with just a 10 minute walk to the main square with a few bars and restaurants on the way. Breakfast is really good and lots of choice for everyone.
Bar is really nice and the bartender was also very friendly. Happy hour from 4-6pm is a very welcome touch after walking around for hours.
Swimming pool is extremely small but in a city centre hotel you're lucky to have a pool at all.
Bruges is a beautiful city and very picturesque, especially in the snow as it was when we visited. The only thing I would say is to maybe visit a little later in the year as a lot of the attractions were closed and obviously no boat trips were running. Would love to visit again in the Summer.

Room tip: Confirm at time of booking exactly what type of room you have got.

Hotel, room and breakfast were all lovely. The only big downer was the loud music from the bar till the early hours. I didn't bring earplugs thinking we wouldn't need them in medieval Bruges. When i mentioned this the next morning the girl at front desk pretended she wasn't aware of this. I cannot imagine being the first one being bothered by this? A pity because all the rest was very nice. But to me the most important thing you do in a hotel is... sleeping!

Room tip: Ask for any room except the one above the bar!
