Have just spent 2 nights staying in the ‘Hotel ‘t Voermanshuys’ in the beautiful city of Bruges (Brugge). The first impression of this hotel is very small (the reception, the lift, the stairs), however the bedrooms themselves are very spacious and with reasonable sized beds. The furniture in the rooms is quite dated, but does seem to match well with the traditional style of this small budget hotel. The rooms also have coffee / tea making facilities, a large flat-screen television and plenty of cupboard / storage space. The bathroom was also a reasonable size, however the shower head (above the bath) could not be fastened against the wall, which meant that you had to hold it in your hand whilst showering (which is not exactly convenient).
The breakfast (which is included in the room price) was quite simple, but did have quite a good choice of different fresh breads with cheese and cold meats. Tea, coffee, orange juice, cereals and jam were also available. It is certainly sufficient for a hotel of this size and rating.
The whole hotel was very clean and tidy and the staff (manager) were friendly at all times. There is also free Wi-Fi available everywhere in the hotel.
This hotel is ideally located for visiting the city, with the city-centre and all it’s beautiful buildings and canals being only a couple of minutes walk away. The nearest (underground) car parking facilities are about 8 minutes walk away and the daily charge is currently € 8,70 (for 24 hours).
I would certainly recommend this 2* budget hotel for anyone wishing to stay close to the city-centre and for it’s clean rooms, good beds, friendly staff, but without too much luxury.
