My sister and I stayed at De Potyze in early October 2017. We loved it. Paul and Mimi are superb, lovely hosts. This was our first time in Ypres. They offered a warm welcome late on into the evening with an ice cold beer and recommendations for the days ahead.

De Potyze is a little way out of the centre of Ypres... It cost 15 euros (with tip) from the Menin Gate by taxi. It's roughly a half-hour straight walk into Ypres. Over our tremendous breakfast, Paul suggested we hire bikes to ride out to Tyne Cott and that's exactly what we did. It made for one of the most memorable days of my life.

It's situated just off the main road in peaceful surroundings - quite a dichotomy when your mind is forced to think what once transpired in this beautiful country a century ago.

As a B&B, the accommodation was perfect. Our room was cosy, spotless with two single beds compete with a shower and sink. Yes, the toilets are located out of the room but this wasn't a problem.

We only really had cause to visit Ypres to remember our great, great uncle who died in WW1. Ypres was endearing. 100 years on, "Ypreians" commitment to memorialising history both is humbling and inspirational. And it's absolutely true to say that Paul and Mimi do their part to keep the history alive. If you want to make new friends, enjoy the comfort of a home away from home, you needn't think twice. Book now.

I know some have said it on Trip Advisor, others have written it in their guest books, you'll feel lucky you found De Potyze. It's very likely you'll make new friends and don't be surprised that not long after your first visit if you're soon thinking of when to return. Thank you Paul & Mimi. Mike & Sarah x

Wonderful experience. Paul and Mimi make you feel like family from the moment you enter their lovely home.
They are amazing hosts and truly care about their guests. Paul visited with us and offered apple juice from their own trees. Quiet location close to Ypres. Beautiful garden created over many years of care. Breakfast is amazing. they even offer baggies for the leftovers. Belgium chocolates and water bottles are included treats. Highly recommended.

This is a very good B&B. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating, they could not have been more helpful. The accommodation is spotless. Breakfast is brilliant and worth staying just for that. So why not 5* only because of the shared toilet nought wrong with that unless you don't know the people in the other room. there is another toilet downstairs. A good site for visits to Ypres and war graves.

Room Tip: Both rooms are good the first has on suite

We have just returned from our fourth break at De Potyze. We look at this place as almost a second home. Paul and Mimi are like old friends. We took different friends to visit the area this time and they both loved it. I cannot praise this place enough.
We cannot wait to return in the not too distant future.

We have visited this place a few times as a couple and with friends. This place is wonderful, it is spotlessly clean and beautiful. We even spent our honeymoon here too. The breakfast spread is amazing. The rooms are completely modern and bathroom areas are clean and tidy. The hosts are so kind, friendly and helpful. I cannot praise this B&B highly enough. The Garden is beautiful and the surroundings are peaceful and serene. I could happily live here, but will keep coming back to stay when we can. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: One room is a twin with en-suite shower and sink and the other is a twin with a separate bathroom, both rooms share a toilet.
