Arrived in Évora on a Sunday when very few places were open (shops, cafes or restaurants).

Stumbled upon this place and had a very enjoyable meal at very reasonable prices.

We had a bread basket and three delicious pastas.

Lots of locals were dining in - we were the only overseas tourists.

Definitely recommended.

We generally know we are in a good local restaurant when we are the only tourists there. Such was the case when we arrived at Pane and Vino. The menu is only in Portuguese, so you know that they are not pandering to the tourist crowd. Pizza and pastas make up the options, and there was a daily special when we were there. The friendly waitress spoke fair English, and we ordered a pizza with ham, and a bottle of red wine. The wood fired, thin crust pizza for two was the perfect dinner size, and was the best we have had in Portugal so far on our 5 weeks swing through the country. The prices were reasonable, and the ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Be sure to check out the brick work on the ceiling.

I was in a big hurry and ordered pasta carbonara and got it in five minutes! And it tasted very good. Had also a glas of red wine of the House and that was also nice.
The lady who took my order was very kind.
A family celebrated someone’s birthday and it shows that this restaurant also is popular among locals!

Waited more than one hour for the food and the food wasn't very great. Lack of variety in terms of ingredients. Too expensive for the quality of the food offered. The garlic butter and the little breads are good tho, and the space is rustic and cozy. Disappointing experience overall.

If you want Italian, go somewhere else.
I had scalloping, she had pasta bolognese and neither of us enjoyed our meals. Very bland and chain-restaurant type place.
