Firstly, this review appeared under a different restaurant. I realized that it was the wrong one and contacted TA to correct it.
My wife and I were very hungry and arrived in Coimbra looking for a nice lunch before walking around the town.
The weather was rainy and I was not able to do my usual "walking around and finding a place with the right vibes" method, as I do when I don't have someplace already picked out.
My wife pointed in this direction and I saw the simple looking place. One glance at the menu showed that it was a pretty standard Portuguese "family" restaurant. I worked at three different Portuguese restaurants in the 1990's and despite not being Portuguese, know what is good and what isn't.
This place delivers the goods. Simple foods made with good quality ingredients. Nothing fancy, salad, grilled fish, roast kid and vegetables. All of it was made with care and we enjoyed it all.
The server was friendly, the wine list was good and reasonably priced.
The place does it right and we were very happy that we found it.
