since our trip to porto got postponed, we had to stay for a night at cascais as we were leaving directly from there with friends. the booking was done through booking.com 3 hours before arrival n upon our arrival the owner received us at the door and had our room and check in papers ready... simple decor but very entertaining and hospitable ... the garden is beautiful

The accommodation was excellent with good facilities. The buffet breakfast included a good variety of foods and João and Duarte were very friendly and helpful (we never got to meet Margarita).

There are some good restaurants about a 7 minute walk away in the Torre district, however the town centre is a good 25 minute walk away and the buses were not very reliable. On our arrival in Cascais we got a number 404 bus from town (station is under the shopping centre) and although the driver said that he'd tell us when we were in the right street he dropped us around 1 km (10 mins walk) away in a street that didn't even appear to be on the official bus route. One evening we waited 15 minutes for a bus (having looked up the time online) and then although the bus was almost empty the driver shut the doors after the first person at the stop got on and despite our waving at him drove off without us. Therefore if you want to go into town for the evening you're either in for 50 minutes walking (return trip) or paying for a taxis.

Daytime there are buses available from nearby which can take you to the town centre, Guincho beach, Cabo da Rocca and Sintra; all are worth a visit. You can also hire basic bikes for free for the day - the nearest hire point is 20 minutes walk away at the junction of Rua Torre and Avenida República, you just need to take a passport or driving license photo-card to register.

Room tip: "Cabo da Rocca" room on the top floor, rear of the building was excellent with a nice balcony overlooking the garden.

Second time at this guest house and did not disappoint. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Relaxed atmosphere, plenty of variety for breakfast and once again a very enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend.

I simply agree with all the positive points previous reviewers state. The owners are really kind and helpful. They know many towns in Portugal and can give you great advice! Rooms were good, breakfast was great (I love their fresh bread), and overall we just had a lovely stay :)
Also they have a roller shutter which makes for a perfectly dark bedroom!

Room tip: Book directly and not through booking . com-they say you can get better deals sometimes if you book directly.

We liked this place quite well. The owners are very nice and willing to spend time helping you figure out what to do. The room was decent size (3 beds) and the a/c worked well. The place was a challenge to find the first time so print off a map from google before you come.
