Had to leave the noisy Old Town Santa Maria hostel. This place was less expensive and was QUIET. Even had a small balcony with beautiful view. Yes, it is an older property but I liked it, the family and the location. They offered fresh cooked eggs for breakfast. Boiled me some hot water for tea on a day it was chilly. There is no lift but luckily for me the cleaning lady was stronger than me:-)! And got my bag up and down the stairs. Easy walk to cable car, market, bus station, etc. I would stay here again. I did hear a dog occasionally, but he never barked into the night time. I have been having trouble with mattresses all over and they are no worse than most.

A verz friendly and helpful family, speaking all languages. Good breakfast. 3 minutes walking to the street with many restaurants and bars. 3 minutes walking to the sea. And to the cable car to the mountain Monte with Tropical Garden and Botanical garden.

This hotel is great for its position, helpful and very very nice owner and other people working there, cleaness, historical building- remind me colonialism style, (large rounded wooden stairs, high sailings, big divided windows, and the other decoration.. ) also..
Good price even with breakfast ..one of the cheapest we could get in funchal. Breakfast was simple but sufficient (coffee-tea/juice/toasted bread/butter Marmelade//cheese or ham/or eggs/banana) and again with excellent service!! The behaved to us like we were queen or king..hah ;)

Things which can be improved..is that you can hear completely everything in almost all the house,..that someone else took shower or flush a toilet...walking etc...it's an old building. So you have to count with that if you book this hotel.
The room is a bit old style, but everything clean. Also a fresh flowers in the room-very cute.

The owners-employees are just the top!completely friendly and helpful. giving advice and taking care as much as they can.

Can recommend for sure this place.

Came here last year October for a funeral. At first staff seemed nice and hospitable and spoke good English and had an very welcoming smile. Came to the room it was noisy dirty and lacked basics no fridge coffee machine. Could hear a dog barking which kept us up at night. Bath and toliet was disgusting. Bed was rock hard making the experience much worse and making it hard to sleep. Also we had an shower and the staff made no attempt to rectify the problem and kept saying they was busy. I strongly reccomend you do not come to this hotel as it is noisy dirty hard to sleep in and the staff lack the skills to deal with problems in there uncleaned hotel.

Pensao Mirasol - family guided pension with breakfast. Rooms not huge but enough to rest and sleep. Breakfast is simple and repeats, but it is correspondent to the price. If you look for high standard, try another place, but if you need a place to rest, wash up and sleep it is a good choice. Nearby Old Town, city center and marina. The bus stops also very near to pension. Very hospitable and helpful family which owes the pension. They are always willing to help, to inform, to advice. And Senhor Umberto really polyglot :)

Room Tip: Best view - rooms 23 -25
