We walked from Old Town Funchal to Camara de Lobos. Our walk took us through Praia Formosa Beach though it wasn't particularly attractive. It did however have very welcome toilets.

Barriers has been set up at the Camara de Lobos end of the beach to dissuade walkers from continuing their walk following storm damage, but we climbed over them and managed to make it all the way even though the elevated walkway was broken in parts. We avoided this by dropping to the beach below and then climbing back up. Several people were also doing the same so we didn't feel it was too dangerous.

We walked from Funchal (near Reid's) to Camara de lobos - a good walk and the tunnel was fun; but this pebble beach was not the best part. Hard to walk on.

The walk between Funchal and Camara dos Lobos is an interesting and attractive walk. But you need to be prepared for hazards.

The tunnel on the East side of the Praia Formosa might be locked. If it is, then you have to walk up the hill and find a way back down to the beach further on.

The elevated walkway at the West end of the beach is great, unless it is shut due to storm damage,

We had some challenges, but it was nevertheless an interesting walk, with a welcome beer at the end.
