I don't usually like codfish but these fried morsels are quite tasty. Great to see the cooks making them too. Port was nice. $9 I though was a bit steep though.

The pastéis were overpriced and inauthentic. Walk an extra minute down the road and try the real deal in any Portuguese café for a quarter of the price.

As a foodie was drawn in to the buzz around this place. It was €9 for a small glass of wine and a dry salt cod fish cake with smelly cheese. Salt cod is a cheap ingredient this is not value for money. They are beautifully presented but it's style over substance. The upstairs seating area is beautiful but the price leaves a nasty taste in your mouth.

It is quite amazing how this store can sell a Portuguese typical snack like bolinhos de bacalhau, that is made of cheap elements like salted cod and potato for 4 euro each.

Just as a comparison in Porto outside the city touristic like environment you can have a full dish of nice food+drink+coffee for 5 euros.

And this place is selling something that costs 0.70cents in any other places nearby for 4 Euros!!!!!

To be completely honest I was completely fulled by the marketing they have there.

I am native from Porto city center and this kind of things make me sick, not just for the tourists because they will have a wrong idea of what the native people are, but also because we the natives don't go anymore to the center of the city.

This stores and investors are destroying the city and the people that come to know our city will run away because any business is a scam to rip the money from the tourists or anyone that passes by.

Another sad day in my own city, shame on you mister investor.

Small advise if you want to eat well and cheap go off the city center please.

Enjoy your stay.

Regards

This store only sells the Portuguese typical snack Fried Ball of Cod (Pastel de Bacalhau). It can be accomplished with several drinks, namely fresh white port.
The snack is very well made
The house is very well located near Clérigos Tower.
