This is our second trip to this hotel. The first time 8 years ago (the last time in Porto). The first trip I used points to book the room. Upon arrival we were upgraded to the Suite (I think there is only one in the hotel). It was a huge room with a huge balcony. This trip we brought our two boys and was able to book this hotel and Suite directly. The entire hotel is very clean and contemporary. The staff is all friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is very quality with a variety of options to suit everyone, including hot food (eggs and sausages) a choice of fresh fruit, cereals, cheeses, yogurts, coffee, tea and breads. We enter our room with a couch that flips out for the kids, we have a large double bed, seating area, desk area, bedside tables, large bathroom with separate toilet area. Mirrored walls which make the place look even larger. Then the veranda/patio area. It's even bigger than the room. You could play tennis out there. All to yourself with a table and chairs. The bed is very supportive, but I prefer them that way. Room temperature is comfortable and adjustable. The location of the hotel is on the outskirts of the main city area, but just hop the metro and get off at Casa de Musica and it's an easy 5 minute walk from there. For us it was a no brainer. Large contemporary and clean hotel with a great breakfast and easy to get to, with loads to see just in that area as well. The hotel staff also have great suggestions for local places to eat that are delicious and easy on the pocketbook. Will definitely come back here again! Room was €105 per night for the four of us including breakfast.

Room tip: The suite if available is definitely worth it.

Clean hotel with spacious rooms; decent breakfast. A little away from the main city area/ river area - you can use public transportation but can be a task to figure out.
Great restaurant and cafe options near by. There is also a super market nearby with various options to buy chocolates and other Portuguese treats. Will recommend to stay if the options near the river area are not affordable or not available.

My first time in Porto - I went to watch a Champions League match and wanted to make the most of the 24hours I had there.
I expected a basic, no frills accommodation in the outskirts of the city - what I got was a very stylish, comfortable room in an ideal part of town - great local restaurants & cafés, two blocks from the 'Music Box' concert hall - oh, and I didn't actually have tickets for the match yet. On the eve of my arrival - I contacted the Front Desk via email asking for help in securing a great seat for the match. Bruno took ownership of my request and was in regular contact with me re the options.
When I got to the hotel, the ticket was there, waiting for me - He had picked it up at the box office in advance as the match was likely to sell out! Outstanding!!!

I enjoyed the match and the environment at the stadium thoroughly. My seat was amazing!I toured the town in the evening and then again all day the next day. What a beautiful city!! I can't get over how much I enjoyed it!

I will definitely be back, and will certainly be staying at this hotel again. Great value, outstanding service and ideally situated between the old town and mid-town.

Thank you all at the Quality Inn Portus Cale!

This was the greatest, 24 hours in a city I've ever had!

This we selected as we frequent the choice hotel chain . We were pleasantly surprised this property was in a great location. Accessibility was good for us as we were driving & had a car. Nice accommodation with great breakfast.
