As we stayed in the hotel where this restaurant is, we booked for the first evening. There is a tasting menu, but we ate à la carte. High quality and finesses Also a lot of wines by the glas, and good information by the sommelier , all for reasonable price, of course in the Top level. Very good Chef, young with experience, and with new surprising dishes. So good that we went a second evening aging

We tried to have dinner at 2 other restaurants which were full. As a final attempt we tried Palco & to our surprise when we showed up, the restaurant was basically empty. It’s a shame because the dishes were creatively prepared and beautifully presented. The food was good too. The service was pleasant but the staff could have been better trained for a Michelin started restaurant. We would eat here again.

We stumbled onto this place by accident, and what a lucky find.
We had the six course tasting menu with accompanying wines for €65+ €25 each.
It was beautifully presented by the chef and elegantly served by the lovely Angolan/Portugese hostess and the very excellent sommelier, both of whom had excellent English .

The whole meal was a triumph from the three part amuse bouche to the final white extravaganza which was the coconut yuzo and gin dessert and its amazing cocktail accompanying drink. This should be a one or two star Michelin restaurant. The chef, Almeida Garrett and his team are to b congratulated on their achievements.

We had the tasting menu (€80) plus wine pairings (€35). The amuse bouches were a bit odd to be honest - frozen melon and a tacky potato skin which while clever didn't do much on the palate. The best dishes were the crayfish and the veal, but other than that nothing was standout as you would expect from a tasting menu. Sadly (as I have a sweet tooth) the desserts were disappointing, particularly the chocolate with kiwi and matcha tea, this just didn't work.
The staff were friendly though not very attentive and we had to ask to top ups often.
There are better places to go in Porto so I would skip here.

So the Michelin guide recommended this restaurant, and for a very very good reason. Even though it's situated in a hotel with a corny decor, the food was INCREDIBLE.
We ordered the two different tasting menus which effectively presented us with 14 different courses and this does not count the chef complementary starter courses we were served before it all. We've also ordered the accompanied wine recommendation deal.
So this turned out to be an amazing dinner. every dish was like a piece of art. plenty of seafood and Portuguese delights. Every dish was accompanied by a different glass of wine. Three or four different deserts. It was crazy.
And in the end we weren't stuffed - we were j-u-s-t right. A well balanced AMAZING dinner.
Simply unforgettable. Should easily earn a Michelin star...
