Huge portions. A must try when in Porto besides the sights and all you can drink Port. Café is a little crowded, try to come at slightly off peak hours. Tables are cramped.
Food is fantastic, served warm! Service is ok, there's a huge poster to tell you what it consists of with pictures!

Without any doubts the best francesinha in Porto. The quality of the ingredients and the the famous sauce makes it the best. I advise to go between 6pm-7pm because after that both rooms are full and with big lines waiting. A MUST in your Porto visit.

Francesinha. A cholesterol nightmare, but everyone says it must be tested. Order one and share it. Like it (?!), then buy it again. Fun to try, but no pleasure.

You're in Porto, right? So, there are rules. Discover and drink Port. Check out the Douro river. Eat Pastel De Nata and Molotovs. Find the best Francheshina in the city and wait 30 minutes to eat it.

If you ask locals where their favorite sandwich is, more often then not, Santiago F comes up. Get there early if you can. It fills quickly with tourists and locals on their lunch break. If you don't get there when they open be ready for a half hour or more wait.

Walk in and put your name on the list. When a seat opens up they'll come out and call your name. There is a menu but let's face it, you're there for the big sandwich you've heard so much about. Order it with a cold and frosty Super Bock.

This cafe was recommended to us by Oporto Mountain Tours as the best place to try a Franceshina. We are so glad we did it was great. This was a full English Breakfast between slices of bread and smothered with cheese and a secret sauce which we believe involves beer and brandy! and chips. We ate here 2 nights the second night we had fish fillets with salad, it was very fresh. The staff were really friendly. we would definitely recommend this cafe, get there early to avoid disappointment.
