LOCATION
This hotel really is situated in a perfect location on Choeng Mon Beach. I was spooked by some of the reviews, but would advise you to ignore them, probably subjective anyway. We had beach bungalow number two, I am uploading photos so that you can see the precise position and view - it was to the sea, a hop, skip and a jump away. The sandy beach sloped perfectly into the sea without fear of pebbles or stones unlike further along the beach on either side. It was fabulous.

Our bungalow did face the bar/restaurant, but that was never a problem and great if you enjoy a bit of people watching but, you could always turn your chairs to look towards the sea. The bar probably needs an update, but judging by what they have achieved so far, this is precisely what the owners are looking to do, however, it really is not a problem and it was quiet in fact everything wound down after 9pm but you could still get a drink - so no noise pollution.

Further afield means a short walk through the delightful complex, past the pool and onto Choeng Mon ‘high street’ with it’s huge choice of restaurants, bars and shops with a Family Mart on the corner for provisions including toiletries, snacks, Gin and wine (the latter being very expensive in Thailand).

ROOMS
Spotless, great size, comfortable beds, basic but clean walk in shower/toilet etc. No problems with shower or water temperature. The air-conditioning was superb, best we have had in such a hot climate. The cleaners popped around every day and you could choose whether you wanted the room freshened up or not and, dropped off bottles of water. Flat screen TV, but who wants to watch it on holiday? The rooms are not de-luxe, but they are lovely, with neutral decor, cool tiled floors, clean bedding etc.

BREAKFAST
We chose to have breakfast included in the price because we loved the idea of simply walking across to the bar and eating overlooking the sea. Some had said a better breakfast could be had in the town but, hey, ho, the breakfast was lovely and we usually ended up with more than we asked for, it was always beautifully prepared and we had no complaints whatsoever.

GENERAL
I read reviews suggesting this hotel was run down - far from it, and it is perfectly clear that the owners, lovely Apple and her partner, are doing everything they can to upgrade, so nothing is too much to ask. If there would be something you were unhappy about, it seems to me that providing your request is reasonable, it will be sorted out.

All things considered, we paid approx £45 per night for this accommodation with breakfast and it was perfect. If you were to walk for 3 mins along the beach you would end up at a luxury hotel costing £245 per night, but heaven knows what you get that’s so much more desirable than what Bay Beach Resort offers and it’s the same beach (but, Bay Beach has the best position). To the other end of the beach are resorts advertising beach bungalows but, I looked, and you can’t see anything from the beach and, with all the jungly greenery surrounding those accommodations I would be concerned about mosquito’s which was not the case with Bay Beach Resort which is open and provides wonderful views.

I have not mentioned the pool, that too was fabulous, but I do prefer the beach, so only tested it out - no chlorine and spotlessly clean.

We have travelled all around the world and are of the view that if you are looking for good quality accommodation in a fabulous location at a great price, then you can’t beat this hotel - yes sure, you might get cheaper and you can definately pay a lot more, but you will get more than you paid for here. We loved it and would definately go back (having now looked at the other hotel options available).

Room tip: All the bungalows have a great position, see photos

The hotel is clean and right on the beach. The owner Apple is very friendly and welcoming. We ate every day in the beach restaurant which is the restaurant for the hotel, the food is fresh and good. It is lovely having breakfast on the beach as well as lunch should you want There is a good choice of traditional Thai food and European. This is our third year there and we hope to come again next year. If you want a relaxed hotel and lovely beach this is the place to be. Much nicer and calmer than Chaweng

Room tip: In the hotel you have views or choose a beachside for easy access to the beach

The resort is located right on the beach at Choengmon - which is probably the finest, and most certainly the prettiest, beach in Samui.

We stayed in the Building, on the top floor, from where the view is amazing - the swimming pool on one side of the room, and a picturesque beach on the other! In fact, we only need to look out of the room to check the tide!

Actually, the sea is usually gentle, but the adjacent small island and other natural barriers (in the sea) make us feel particularly safe in these waters.

The room was bright, clean and large, with all the amenities we could require. The staff did their best to accommodate our occasional requests, and make our stay comfortable. Free WiFi internet worked well. The large swimming pool was wonderful, and we made good use of the jacuzzi!

Ms. Apple and Mr. Sajja take excellent care of their guests, and we brought back wonderful memories of our holidays at Bay Beach Resort. Will certainly be be back for our annual vacation in 2019!

We stayed in Beachfront Bungalow SK03 which had a fantastic view of the ocean from our front balcony. The room was a good size, the bathroom was big and everything was spotlessly clean.
The service was a bit hit and miss though - some staff were wonderful and very helpful, while some just weren't interested. We asked for an extra blanket for the bed but were told we couldn't have one!
The pool was big and very clean. Hotel guests have free use of the beach lounge chairs but outside guests have to pay 200 Baht.
The resort is in a great location with a Family Mart, laundry, many massage places and restaurants right outside the front entrance.
