Owner description: The second largest temple on the Acropolis has a complex and unique structure, including its famous Porch of the Caraytis with statues of six graceful maidens on the south side and a four-pillared porch with six Ionic columns on the north side.

My favorite structure at Acropolis. Proud statues of Caryatids guards sacred place where Athena battled with Poseidon for patronage of the City. Nice photo opportunity.

The acropolis is fairy disappointing but this magnificent temple is what rescues it indeed. Beautiful from every angle, even if crawling with tourists and photographers. I spent more time here that the Parthenon.

The Erechtheion is a smaller cousin to the more famous Parthenon, but not diminished in importance or beauty. Visitors to the Acropolis can easily see both and will want to take pictures from an angle that hides the speakers or lights behind the statues of the Erechtheion.

Plan on visiting this while exploring the Parthenon. You can't get very close, but that does allow for better pictures. It is one of the few spots that isn't covered in restoration equipment at the moment. The ground is uneven, so watch your step.
