We arrived in Athens in the early afternoon from our home in Tucson, AZ. We have visited the area before and were boarding a Windstar Cruise the next day. Our local friends met up with us and we headed for dinner at one of their favorite local restaurants. The whole area is lit up by the identical candles on the tables all up and down the small street, and the tiny square. It all looks like one big restaurant. Located right below the Acropolis and with an excellent view of much of the city. The atmosphere is lively and the food is excellent. Although it looked like the local favorite meeting place, we found that the wait staff are very knowledgeable and all speak enough English to clearly communicate with us. I enjoyed the lamb chops and my wife at a chicken dish. Both were excellent. the wine selection was also excellent. I have been told that most of the taxi drivers know where it is located on the edge of the shopping district. We will do this one again!
