We stayed 2 nights. The room was large with a small kitchenette and small balcony facing the courtyard. The room was furnished luxuriously and the bathroom was amazing. The place was very clean and quiet. We had a delicious breakfast with fresh juices and fruit. the hotel is in the center with everything within a few minutes walk.

This was a return visit after a nine-year break and we were looking forward to the splurge and pampering. The staff was as pleasant as we remembered, and though thoroughly remodeled so that we had trouble recognizing the entrance, the AVA is still a very attractive hotel with beautiful spacious rooms. The kitchenette is a great bonus and we were glad to have a place to store our snacks and the Greek cheeses that we'd gotten as souvenirs.
There were 2 issues we had this trip that made the stay less than perfect. We came with a car this time and though there is a space reserved in front of the hotel to unload luggage, there is no parking lot and no valet parking service. The Plaka is a great location for sightseeing, but no fun to maneuver with a car while hunting for a 24 hour parking lot. Also, we had prepaid for breakfast (non-refundable) but our flight schedule was changed and we ended up having to leave for the airport before 7am. We had been informed of the change before we left home and had written the hotel to ask if they could accommodate us. We were offered a snack bag with packaged goodies or, as they advised, to eat whatever was already prepared in the breakfast room. We did have some yogurt, toast with sliced cheese and some deli meat, but other than jellies and dessert cakes, most of the items were just being put out as we left. We didn't expect to have the entire buffet ready earlier for us, but it would have been nice if a little extra effort had been made to put out a few more of the items that required minimal preparation.

Stayed for three nights. Really close to major sites. Had to move room because of a dripping noise from air-con. Staff were really good about this. Can hear the metro but it's not enough to spoil sleep. Kitchenette very good but note there are no utensils.

The AVA is located inthe Plaka area and convenient by foot to the Acropolis, Parthenon, shopping, museums etc.
The service is superb and the breakfast menu is both varied and well prepared. The rooms are quiet and you don’t hear any street noise at night.

Room Tip: Suites are well worth the extra cost with small kitchen and ample room.

If you are traveler, this hotel is the best choice. Walking distance to almost every famous sightseeing. You can drink at your own balcony to see the Acropolis!

Fresh orange juice and yoghurt at breakfast are enough for me.
