opossite of the old byzantine wall there is hidden this little place full of the best pastries sandwitches and probably the best cup of coffee served in chania.... remember. when you are in old harbour to find something decent you must go a bit further away.... the places that are closer to old port are mostly only for tourists....the locals eat there....

Very close to where we stayed. The place looked far from glamorous but the bread and pastries are always fresh.
We could spend the entire morning just sitting in front of the shop slurping our double afredos.
One thing that was memorable is when we asked the barista to take picture of us, he really was into it. He even moved his bike from the background, just because he thought it wasn't nice as a background.
That personal touch that makes a place like this feels more special than others.
Thank you for your hospitality!

I loved this bakery in the center of Chania.
Everything was fresh, the polysporo koulouri gemisto (πολύσπορο) was served in the morning warm, the lychnarakia (λυχναράκια) were amazing. And of course you should try the kaltsounia (καλιτσούνια). The staff very friendly as well!
