This quaint hotel is located within the historic old city of Rethymno, Crete. It can be tricky to find in the warren of narrow streets - as a warning, there is no way to get a car to the door or park there. Instead, a car needs to be parked in nearby public car parks.
The rooms are large and with small kitchenettes that contain a fridge, kettle and stove. The beds are firmly comfortable and large. I had a room which overlooked the street, but was lovely and quiet.
The staff were warm and helpful. We were greeted on arrival with a local bottle of wine. They gave us recommendations for a fantastic bakery (Φούρνος του Νύκταρη), fruit shop and restaurants. Also for a good sheltered place to swim in winter!
The hotel is in close proximity to good restaurants such as Raki Baraki and Μπακαλογατοσ. Nearby sights include the waterfront, the Fortezza, the gardens and museums. Day trips like Arkadi monastery were easily within reach from here.
The old city itself is full of shops, restaurants and bars, with an island flavour. I would highly recommend this location as a result, and Casa De Delfini was the perfect little place from which to explore it all. More
