The moment you walk into Seaside you feel instantly happy. Such a beautiful spot overlooking the harbour, with the restaurants’ pool and surroundings lit up with candles, and the colours of flowers surrounding it. With the warmest welcome from Kostas and literally the best Greek food we’ve ever eaten - it’s hardly surprising we have chosen to go back again and again.

We decided on the spur of the moment to have lunch here, mainly because there was a spare table for two right on the edge of the beach close to the amazingly clear sea. I took the spaghetti Bolognese which was so good, and a fresh lemonade which was equally good but fairly sharp compared to previous ones I had had elsewhere. My wife had a cheese and ham omelette with fresh orange juice. She too was very happy with her choice. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the whole seating area was outside with a most beautiful view of the bay and the colourful village sitting up the hillside. As tables cleared we sat chatting but no attempt was made to press us to leave or to order more. The setting itself pulled you to stay. A very relaxing and fulfilling lunch all in all.

We had an unforgettable evening here with friends. The whole experience was 1000% perfect. We had fried courgette and aubergines - the best I have ever tasted and so delicious, fried cheese and beetroot for starters. We then enjoyed lamb shank, stuffed peppers, squid and spaghetti carbonara. All the dishes were huge and the vegetables tender and sweet. 3 of us could not finish our meals they were so big. We drank the semi-sweet red wine from Lefkada Earth a local vineyard and this was very drinkable and enjoyed by all. The service here was outstanding with the owner making the effort to chat to all the customers. This really is a first class restaurant for a very reasonable price - I cannot wait to visit there again when we go next year and this should really be a must for any visitors to Nidri - a cheap and easy taxi ride.

We were intrigued by the extremely high rating of the Seaside Restaurant (village of Geni) in TripAdvisor - and decided to give it a try for our last evening on Lefkada. This restaurant is located in an interesting peninsula itself part of the island of Lefkada, at the edge of a picturesque bay, facing the village of Vlicho, with its many yachts and colorful fishing boats. We had to make a 10-minute detour from the main road to find the place. While the village appeared almost deserted (late September), the restaurant was full, so we had taken the right decision to make a reservation for the following evening.
As early as upon our arrival the next evening, we were pleasantly surprised by something you rarely see: an ingenious way helping the drivers park their vehicles - using signs, white paint and special yellow car stoppers, thus saving space, protecting the vehicles from scratches and creating an esthetic vision - even of the group of drab-looking cars and ATVs.
Esthetic vision and beauty is something that can be said to exist wherever you look here: at the premises from inside or outside, at the stylish tables, chairs, curtains, the infinity pool with the blue, white and grey shades and sunbeds, the turquoise blue water of the bay in front, the trees blossoming in red and specially planted around, the dishes they serve you, ... everything.
In the evening visitors are first invited to have a drink at special tables at the waterfront, watch the sunset with the scenic views and take pictures. While sitting there we were specially greeted by some of the staff and asked why we chose their restaurant. We explained that we were fascinated by their TripAvisor score and wondered what exactly this was due to. A young waitress said: "Kostas, the owner, will also come to greet you - he does this for every guest anyway, and you will then understand why we are successful."
Kostas appeared soon, looking young, speaking perfect English, and asked us to guess how many years he had been running the place. We gave answers "between 5 to 10 years", it turned out he had been doing it for 25. We were curious about his achievement and asked him many questions. He gave detailed answers, showing what success in the restaurant business (and elsewhere) depends on: ingenuity, perseverance, attention to customers - among many other things Kostas had attended to.
Although this place may be likened to a Greek seaside taverna (and actually it was for some years), and although it offers food and drinks typical of a taverna, it should rather be classified as a boutique restaurant, without being expensive at the same time! The meals were delicious, there was enough variety, there was draft Mythos (the best Greek beer) and it was served in glasses specially cooled in a freezer - two important things concerning beer that you do not always get in a taverna in Greece in the heat of summer.
The service, the special attitude of Kostas and of the whole staff, the food, the drinks, the calm and relaxed atmosphere with the still water of the bay (closed on almost all sides), no loud music, no hurrying waiters, everything was excellent!
The Seaside Restaurant gets our heartiest possible recommendation - and we will be looking forward to visiting the place again, as soon as possible!
