I can say that our stay at this hotel was horrible! It is a 4 star hotel but it doesn't have room service! And you are not allowed to bring any kind of food in your room, or water or anything.
In the hotel description is says Air conditioning: it was broken and after they fixed (or at least that is what they said) they still didn't turn it on because it was centralized and only if outside were more than 28 degrees they would turn it on. And that made me mad because I paid for it and if I want to have constantly 15 degrees in my room I should be able to have that in MY control.
The manager is crazy!! He started screaming and slamming into a table when he saw that we brought food in the room. He was very very disrespectful and he couldn't stop yelling at us. Too bad I am a woman because if I were a man I would have punched him! You just can't treat your customers like that, and this is why he is getting bad reviews!
The rooms are ok, but the cleaning lady did not clean properly: there was sand on the floor and the sheets were not changed at all in 7 days!! Bathroom is a bit small. The breakfast was the SAME all the 7 days we staid there.
I would definitely NOT advise anybody to stay there!! Horrible experience!

Our stay at this hotel started on a Thursday, for 8 days, with a disappointment. The air conditioning was broken, and we were announced that there was nothing to do until Monday because it was something of a special A/C unit and someone from the mainland had to bring a very important part and some knowledge to fix it. This meant that half our stay was without A/C.
When it was operational, they did not turn it on because HEED THIS: all hotels in Greece that have a centralized A/C system are discouraged to turn them on unless it's 28 degrees Celsius or more outside. If you want A/C at your discretion, to look for hotels that do not have centralized A/C systems. "Luckily", the weather was not too warm and sunny, but still the rooms were very warm so we asked for a solution, they brought in a floor-standing fan to not much of a result in operation. When they brought in the fan, the manager and the receptionist that was on duty at the time simply entered the room (no knocking, very annoying) and left the fan.
It's allegedly a 4 star hotel, but there is no room-service available and even more, you are not allowed to bring food or drinks in your room (although there is a refrigerator in the room... does this seem like a contradiction?). On this point, we had a bad argument with the manager who was terribly rude. Yelling at a customer and slamming his fists on a table is not an attitude which i can describe as professional. We were told that food was not allowed in the rooms because it is a matter of hygiene. My opinion is that he should hire a better cleaning person.
And indeed, room cleaning was not too good. Floors are with tiles on them and although this should make for easy cleaning, it was easy to see that the cleaning was not done properly (there was sand on parts of the floor nearly every day AFTER the cleaning lady had left).
Breakfast variety was also a problem, having the same food every day for 8 days for breakfast was a bit frustrating.
Other disturbing things were room size, bathroom size (and presence of spotlights above the mirror, which generate a LOT of heat in that small bathroom), the fact that the cleaning lady took the liberty to check out what we were keeping in the fridge, the lack of a terrace/balcony for each room (this was said to be pretty much the only reason why this wasn't a 5 star hotel, but in my opinion it lacks a LOT more)
As a matter of fact, the only reason why i can say a good word about this hotel was one of the receptionists. She was very nice and very helpful. I did not get the name, but you can't miss her and i do hope that she will find a better place to work, where her qualities will be more evident.

We stayed there for 8 days during August 2009. It is an OK family hotel.

The best part of it was the location – center of the resort, with easy access to the bus station, both ports, 10 minute stroll to the beach, on the commercial alley of the resort and 1 minute to the bank, supermarket, pharmacy and taverns.

The hotel has a beautiful and tranquil front courtyard, a nice pool (with a spring board and a depth of 2.4 meters) and a nice mountain cabana feel to it (the internal decorations are made out of dark brown wood). All rooms have a free safe, a mini fridge and free air conditioning. Also as a plus good service and good staff (English/Bulgarian speaking staff).

The “bad” part is: small rooms, small bathroom, no balcony, very little diversity on breakfast (1 type of cheese; 2 types of cold “meat” products; boiled eggs; orange juice; tea; coffee, milk (cold & hot); bread (white & dark); 1 type croissants; 2 types of cake); thin walls (thou this could be a plus for some ….).

The resort:

Excellent if you are looking for a relaxing and quiet time after a long year of work.
Terrible if you are looking for a big and endless Party! (there isn’t even a club in this resort).

Lots of taverns, expect to pay between 15 and 25 euros for lunch or dinner for two. There are two taverns: Doukas and Thassian that have waiters of different nationalities and you can find menus in different languages (Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek, English, Romanian) , on these two you usually get a 10% discount, free dessert, and a second drink for free (only at Doukas).

Nice and quiet beach and a lot of beach bars that have free sunbeds on the beach (you just have to order something from them; or eat lunch at their tavern), towards the end of the beach you can find a free space for beach towel amateurs.

Good connection on the bus with other resorts (attached is the schedule & prices per person per trip, valid for August 2009).

To reach Golden Beach or Makryammos Beach you can take the the bus, a boat taxi (almost the same fares as the bus), a taxi (5 euros to Makryammos) or simply rent a scooter 15-20 euro / day (look around there are a lot of offers and the price differences are significant).

Usually all the prices are with at least 10 % lower in the mountain villages (we visited Panagia – 10 minute ride with the bus).

Note: don’t imagine the bus looks like something from India; the buses are 3* coaches with A/C.

Recommendation: Take the tour of the island or beautiful bays tours from the old port with either Victoria or Eros 2 ships. (25 – 33 Euro / person with lunch included). You will visit some beautiful and very secluded virgin beaches.

Thay call Thassos the Green Island, and it is. Limenas is a main town on island and a port city. Hotel is situated in center of a main walking street of city of Limenas (use to be Thassos). It has a very beautiful garden, and even a small swimming pool behind building. It is a pity because there are no balcony but originally this building dates from 1926 when it was a business building, not meant to be hotel. It has been refurbish few years ago. It has good windows and air cond. so you wont hear anything. There is a safe in each room (free of charge), shower in bathroom (with large window), fan ... everything very, very clean. There is shuttle bus between hotel and beach Nisteri. Although it is pity not to rent a car (ask on few places what are prices) and to travel around a island - it has 100 km (63 miles), and you could find some deserted beaches, hidden lakes in a center of island or old Greek villages. We had only breakfast (I am not keen to eat at 14h or 15h) which was delicious, maybe be always the same but even at home we don't have each day different meal. There are few taverns in city and on island, so if someone is interested he could ask for more information.
