Quite often restaurants are closed or are closing early on a Monday so I was pleasantly surprised when Mat&Destillat was open until 11pm.
Booked a table for 8pm and sadly the restaurant was almost empty by 10pm.
Though this gave us excellent service and attention from the staff so I'm not really complaining.
Food was excellent. Few choices on the menu, like 5 starters and 4 main courses but the mix was appealing. Fish, wild game, beef and a vegetarian option. We went for the fish, which was a Skrei Cod with pickled cabbage that looked excellent and was very tasty. Portions are adequate and pricing on the higher side.
Dessert menu looked equally good and the chocolate and coconut(chocolate cake and coconut ice cream with oat crumble) choice didn't disappoint at all.
Good selection of wines and you can buy by the glass.
Will definitely eat here again.

Thank Jessica H

We booked a table after our daughter's graduation ceremony. We were offered a set of three-course. A fresh and light fishy starter, a main dish with elk steak and dessert: ice cream with sugar cake. Very pleasant staff, great atmosphere that suits our moods. The main dish was great. Starter was good and dessert poor. The bill 3250 sec with tip. Dinner for 5 persons with 1 bottle of wine and 1 beer. A lot? well, you do not graduate every day.

This is one of the best restaurants in Lund. It is located in what use to be the legendary café Lundagård (which unfortunately went bankrupt a few years ago). I'm very happy that it has been turned into an excellent restaurant. The food is excellent. I strongly recommend the saffron-flavored fish dish, I think it was turbot (unfortunately, the menu in the restaurant was different from the one in the restaurant). All in all, a restaurant I can recommend to anyone visiting Lund. Nicely located opposite the university house and the cathedral in central Lund.

Interested and fashionable version of Swedish/French kitchen traditions. A bit snobby, but reasonable priced for the quality. We had a 3 course meal a la carte with 2 glasses of wine, costing €70 pp.
