Except for its location which is above average this hotel is average in every way, Which makes it a very bad deal if you pay the going rate. The hotel rooms are cruise ship sized and decorated except for the bathroom which was larger. The deeper tub in the bathroom was surrounded by a wide ledge which made entry and exit difficult without doing the splits or sitting down and swinging your legs over. The hallway and room carpets are faded and worn. The walls were scuffed and marked. The lelevators are small Now, if you pay in advance ( not refundable) and the price is around the 135 us mark the hotel represents good value as they have a decent buffet breakfast, free bikes, free internet ( if you join the free HH club) and good service.

I've been to Stockholm many times and stayed at many different hotels. This time I was going with my husband and the criteria for choosing a hotel were a) 3-star or more b) parking c) value for money. I checked out a lot of hotel booking sites and came across an extremely good deal on Expedia (which I hardly ever use).

I've stayed at the hotel before when it was Scandic so I knew what to expect. The room was small - but comfortable, quiet and clean. The beds were good and we slept well. The highlight is the breakfast buffet - something not to be missed. There are so many good things there. This time we didn't use many of the hotel facilities - but I have previously enjoyed the fitness area. The parking (valet) was efficient - although a bit expensive.

The staff are extremely service minded and will help you in every way possible.

This is a hotel I highly recommend.

Good location Nice room but the bed in the queen room is very small and hard (when one person moves it wakes up the other person) , not suitable as a double classification and certainly not good enough for a 5-star hotel. There should have been a facility for coffee and tea in the room. There was unfortunately a smell of sewerage at times emanating from the bathroom which required running the water taps to get rid of the smell. But the breakfast was fantastic, probably the best hotel breakfast we have had for a long time.

Room Tip: When booking for a double check out the bed size

The Hilton in Stockholm was perfectly located. Right at the very edge of the "old town" which is filled with history, restaurants, and bars along with being a short walk to the Palace. We arrived early in the morning after our cross Atlantic flight and without any line waiting at check-in, the hotel quickly accomodated us and had us check-in to our room early. The front desk even gave us a choice of a recently remodeled room on a higher floor but without a view of the water OR a non-remodeled room with a view. We took the non-remodeled room and were not disappointed. The room was a bit dated in its decor but the bed was comfortable and the room was still well maintained and clean. In fact, we like the "mood lighting fixtures" built behind the paneling. The bathroom is big and water pressure and temperature very good. The tub has a very large ledge which is also high and very awkward to leap over to get into the tub and this is from two thirty year old guys .... not someone older who would have significant problems (in my opinion) getting into and out of the tub/shower. Just a note and not a deterent for us. The breakfast is amazing. Read some mixed reviews on here and all I can say is these people must be crazy. We went during prime time eating hours and non-prime time. Once we were borderline being to late and the staff seated us with no issue. They apologized that they were getting ready to clean up but said we could linger as long as we wanted. At the busy times we waited no longer than 5 minutes to be seated and the staff was on top of us removing dirty plates, filling water and juice glasses, and not ignoring us at all. The breakfast is buffet and has everything you could wanted ... bacon, scrambled eggs, swedish meatballs, lunch meats, fruit, muffins, assorted breads/rolls, assorted jellies, sausage, potatoes, etc. The breakfast made it so great for filling up before a long day of sightseeing. The fitness center is big...plenty of equipment and cardio machines. Even a tanning bed and real locker rooms. Spin classes available during peak hours. The hotel had everything you could want when you wanted to be there and recover from a long day or to just chill. Slight negative for the light sleepers ... there is a bar in the hotel which is great and gets a good crowd, but the music tends to be very Euro and loud and our walls vibrated on the weekend nights. We're from New York City so loud noises don't bother us, but our first night we were over tired and it was annoying to even us. That may be a turn off to some people, but ask the front desk about a room further up and away from the bar if thats a problem. Not stopping us from coming back here.

We managed to get a deal on the rate and my husband is a diamond member for another few months (then sadly, we'll lose it) so we received a room upgrade, access to the Executive Lounge and breakfast. These factors definitely 'add' to the quality of the stay. We really enjoyed the hotel - our room was great! I had read previous reviews regarding the street noise in the rooms that are located at the front of the hotel. The caveat is, if you want a view of the water, you have to be at the front of the hotel, over the street. In any event, the window in our room appeared to be upgraded (it had many panes) and noise was not an issue. We didn't have any problem with the marble tub either, though I can see how they may be difficult for some guests to step in and out of. In the usual Hilton tradition, breakfast was exceptional and the staff very friendly. The location was hard to beat - an easy walk to the old town and beyond. We had decided to stay at another hotel for the last two nights of our stay in Stockholm and we left wondering about the wisdom of this decision. Truly a great stay!
