Our first time to Finland and didn't know what to expect. The hotel is quite close to the airport, we stopped to collect snow suit and boots en-route. Our room was on the ground floor at the back so we had views of the snow and trees. If you ask for an upstairs room you won't hear anyone walking above you. Don't bother with any 'evening' clothes, it's very much casual and comfortable - you'll be too tired from the days activities. The food was fine - nothing fancy but you are in the arctic circle, you'll get what you need. Wine by the glass from the draft was cheaper than buying a bottle. The draft gin is a must try. The shutter next to the window was great for chilling drinks. The sauna was hotter than I expected the Finnish sauna to be, more like Swedish. There's a hairdryer next to the showers for the Sauna/Plunge Pool. None for the room. Bathroom/shower is compact but perfectly acceptable. The hotel was always warm, the staff are friendly and helpful. Get your duty free at the airport on the way out, there's nothing on the plane and no duty free shop at the airport in Finland. Overall this was a brilliant experience and we would love to return next year. Bring a head-torch, hat/snood, gloves and thermals for winter including some thick thermal socks.
