Am writing this review to put people at ease as there are not a lot of reviews on this hotel.we stayed 5th December to the 8th of December. After a troubled flight from manchester (stopped off at newcastle) we arrived at kittila, bags put on the coach and then off to get our snow suits and boots.got our boots and walked to suit counter didnt have to tell him what size as he had already got them out and they fitted,a little too big but good for extra layers underneath (don't panic if it does not fit you can exchange in the hotel) so on the coach to hotel which is approximately 2 hours away and that time they give you a bit of time to chill out and take in the scenery, which is stunning!!!.then after about an hour or so we had a sing song then the driver suddenly started braking (worrying as its on the snow but no all in control )there was a load of reindeer crossing the road, beautiful!.so Santa's helpers give everyone their room keys to save everyone queuing in the hotel and a form to sign that you drop of when passing!.ideal.the reps(santas helpers) said if we wanted to meet in reception at 6pm to go and do marshmallows on the fire at the lake.so we met up sorted out our sticks with them on and off we went to roast them, tasted lovely with the warm berry juice.this then escalated into a snowball fight (1st of many) with Dasher Dan being the instigator.off then for tea.i found the food very nice different types of soup starter, meats, fresh salmon pastas, salads, breads, cakes and biscuits freash coffee and teas.breakfasts consisted of white beans in tomato sauce bacon(streaky stuff),scrambled egg sausages, breads, cereals, berries, yougerts, jams, cheeses its goes on to many to name.it wasn't a big selection but something for everyone.then kids entertainment started, which was funny they really do inter act with the kids Dasher Dan,merry eileen, tea cup etc cannot remember all the team (sorry guys) but they do not stop with the kids and my lad loved them.next day onto the taster sesions, husky ride, reindeer ride, snow mobile ride, kids go on a sledge towed by the guy at the front, sledging and again warm berry juice in the snow castle.you can then book what you wanted to with the rep.it was fully booked when we where there which we didn't mind as the little lad just wanted to sledge.then back to the hotel at lunch time.we walked down to the super market 20/30 min walk and got some cans of pop and sandwiches.we took pot noodles and snacks.then afternoon events took place on the lake it was snow Olympics it was a laugh, and that then turned into a snowball fight . Then, inside to do crafts, kids were busy busy busy.the hotel was really warm, and the suits and boots provided were exceptionally warm.1st day i wore thermals, tracksuit and snow suit but it was far to warm for all that so i changed to just 1 layer of thermals and snowsuit it was much better.there were plenty and sledges dotted around the hotel to use.drinks are quited expensive €9.50 for a pint €6.00 for a baileys €5 for a coke.the little shop in reception sold ice cream and keyrings etc.this hotel is not very big and the atomshere is very relaxed.gala night food was really nice, you get called up to see santa 1 family at a time.the kids where told not to open their presents until every child had theirs.Absolutely loved this place so much,so the wife has gone out and booked for next year,we have only been back a day,so hetta hotel see you again next year.the sauna was very nice and the plunge pool was freezing but thats what they do in finland.enjoy your visit!!.there is a FB page if you want any tips etc
