We stayed here for 2 nights, 3rd leg of our long Scandinavia and Baltic countries vacation. We came in by Ferry on the Viking Line from Stockholm. We took Tram 4 from the harbor and changed to Tram 7 at Senate Square to get to Hakaniemi based on the hotel staff directions. Tram 4 stop is a bit of a walk from the harbor and I do not recommend it. It is best to take Tram 5 from the Harbor and change to Tram 7. We arrived at the hotel early due to the overnight ferry and the hotel staff said we would have to pay 15 euro for an early check in. I travel extensively across the world, but this is the first time any hotel wanted to charge for early check in. I was traveling with a 7 year old! Shortly after, a group of tourists from one tour came in and they were allowed early check in without the extra fee. My daughter didn’t think it was fair. We stayed at the lobby for about an hour to catch our breathe after a long trip, then decided to walk to the Market Square. It’s about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The location is good and the Metro stop is across the street. You could walk to the Cathedral and Market Square and take a Ferry to go to the Soumenlinna Fortress and shopping is on the same Market Square stretch. The room was clean and housekeeping provided extra towels. Breakfast had several selections and the breakfast staff were friendly. We stayed in room 814.

Stayed for a few nights this month and had a very decent stay. The rooms are large and clean with everything you need, breakfast was excellent with super friendly staff and the location is super fantastic just a little away from the rush of it all but well connected to anywhere you’d want to go. The room servicing was hit and miss but not a issue at all.

Visited the hotel with friends and had a room for 4 people. Room was clean and serviceable. Our rate included breakfast which was a hot and cold buffet with a good range. Sauna was available for guests to use which was good to warm up in! Location is near supermarket, McDonald’s and public transport. Around a 15 minute walk to the centre. Airport bus dropped us outside which was handy. Friendly staff on reception.

After big Scandic hotel chain bought all Cumulus hotels, they've done some "make ups" and then opened those hotels again under Scandic brand and this Hakaniemi is one f them. Not in the City Centre, but still good location. Indoor market hall, sea front, metro station etc. all near. Small lobby area, with friendly front desk. Breakfast room at their 2nd floor and it was nice to hear staff shouting good mornings and have a good days. My superior room was real spacious, with comfy bed and fast, free Wi-Fi. Only "bad" thing was, that I had to be curtains closed all the time, because there were windows right in opposite side, so ask room facing front

Stayed at the hotel for one night with friends. Room for 3 adults was really small, there wasn't space to do anything. Air conditioning was broken and the room temperature was around +25, so really uncomfortable to sleep. The receptionist didn't even apology when we mentioned the problem.

Location is good in Hakaniemi, really close to metro station.

Breakfast was really basic, and the coffee was not good.
