Stopped in here because we heard it had some great Icelandic ice cream, we were not disappointed. Good soft serve and I added cookie dough to mine which was a large chunk of dough!

Read about this as being the best ice cream in Iceland in lonely planet. Was also told by my friend who was visiting 1 week before me to try this. the ice cream itself was more icey (similar to sorbet) than soft or creamy- was this the style? not sure. The liquorice dip was unique. You could taste it more if you lick it rather than bite it. I didn't get the chance to try ice cream with liquorice syrup but thats another favourite amongst people visiting here. We did not experience lines but we were there even before the place opened as it was a pit stop for us driving from Egilstaddir back to Reykjavik.

Was worth standing in line for ice cream.
Lots of toppings....interesting preparation by the staff.
If you're at Noa - this place is next door.

I had read good reviews so we made a stop as driving through. Maybe the machine was not working. I expected creamy soft ice cream but it was very icy and poor flavour . Our kids did not even finish there's and threw it out

“The best ice cream in Iceland” our Lonely Planet guide said as we drove into Akureyri. We are ice cream fans so we stopped in the impressive Akureyri Tourist Office shop downtown (which I recommend) and got a map to find it. We drove out of town and found it. To our horror, it is just a soft serve shop with only vanilla and chocolate ice milk to which they add a few mix-ins or a dip. This was a poor imitation Dairy Queen! Perhaps this ice cream is special in Iceland or as one reviewer stated, it is a local cult favorite. Perhaps they can not get other good ice cream, but to us who can get good soft serve from at least five different places in our home town in the States, this was not impressive. If you do stop here, try the multitude of licorice mix-in options or the chocolate dips with candy mix-ins available, which are unique to Iceland.
