This is a very basic hotel. Even if you may not like budget hotels you are almost forced to book a budget hotel in iceland as it is a very expensive country.

This hotel has a very small elevator that holds you and your suitcase only. Its very rickety and felt a bit unsafe. The hotel had a bit of a musty smell and the bed was really small but i must say the heating was good and and room was clean. The bathroom is the tiniest thing i have ever seen and if you didnt shower with very small amount of water the whole place would have flooded as the floor does not have any partition.

The only good thing about the hotel was the people who managed it as they were always pleasant and helpful and the fact that the location was walkimg distance to down town.

I can't possibly say this strong enough. This is an awful place to stay. Perhaps if you're 18, don't mind bad service, horrible hotel rooms, noise and broken beds then fine.
No one was there when we turned up even though we had said what time we were coming. We waited for 30 minutes, called the phone, searched the hotel, no one. So we had to spend the first day travelling around the city with our luggage. When we did check in the lady practically threw our keys at us and was so rude. In our room we were missing towels and the one pillow we had each was the same thickness of a crumpled tissue. I went to ask for more pillows, towels and a hair dryer and was met with disgust and told they didn't have enough hair dryers and I may get one layer. Bearing in mind it was minus 10c and there's no way I'd go out with wet hair.
The headboard of the bed was a boiling radiator which you couldn't turn off therefore you had to be careful not to burn your hair. The bed was broken in the middle so my husband rolled into the middle of the small double every night. The bathroom was a toilet and shower head, basically on top of each other which was very awkward.
One night it was so noisy that my husband had to go upstairs and tell a group of guys to be quiet, you could hear everything. No one was around to complain to. We opted for no breakfast thankfully as it looked like it was a box of cereal in an empty room each morning.
I cannot believe it has an average rating on Booking dot com and on here. I've stayed on hundreds of hotels across the world, whether on business or as a student in hostels. This is worse than any hostel I've ever stayed in.
Spend the extra money and go AirBnB or to a nicer hotel with more stars.
Good luck....!

There's a reason why the pricing on this hotel is very low-- it's a very basic hotel. This worked out for my group as we were out and about for most of the days anyways and just needed a room to sleep and shower.

We arrived early and the front desk was able to get us our rooms early. Upon entering, the hotel is very old fashioned: traditional lock and key doors, older elevators, staff's limited availability. We were a bit confused when the person at the front desk said that breakfast wasn't included, contrary to what the website says. Anyways, this wasn't too big of a deal to us.

The rooms are VERY small, and so is the bathroom. We knew we shouldn't expect this amazing glamorous hotel, but wow! There isn't a tub to separate the shower from the rest of the bathroom, so be prepared with flip flops to avoid getting your feet wet. The beds were crammed to the side and were uncomfortable (could feel the bed springs in the mattress.

Anyways, like i said, this hotel isn't the greatest but it isn't too terrible. The room and bathroom were kept clean and it was in a pretty decent location.

We have just come back from staying here for 4 nights. Reading all the reviews from previous people I was a little anxious on what to expect. However I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is basic (isn't no Hilton) but it is all you need for lapping up the sights of Iceland. We stayed with an infant too and they made sure we had everything we needed for our young one. The rooms were always lovely and warm and able to control temperature. Shower was nice and warm, people have moaned about the smell of sulphur but everywhere you go regardless of hotel you can smell it from the hot tap!! Real comfy beds, excellent wifi, didn't eat the breakfast as we wanted something different. Don't let the reviews put you off it is everything you need to just put your head down at night!
If you want a fancy hotel go and pay for one with a ridiculous price tag.. Iceland is expensive enough let along forking out a huge amount for a hotel. Save your penny's and stay here and have everything at your fingertips!

like 5 minutes walking to the center, very basic, we had tv, didnt have breakfast included but for the price you can get the same outside. Iceland is very expensive and this hotel was a bargain so couldnt be happier. Clean and warm room.
