It was cold and we were returning from The Whales of Iceland exhibit when we came upon this restaurant offering a great buffet for about $25, which is very economical by Icelandic standards. They had a delicious hot soup and good meat and fish dishes. Service was good also.

All you can eat buffet with large range of sea food starters. There was a choice of meat or fish dishes for the main course followed by deserts and tea or coffee.

I don't write reviews on anything, like ever. But we were so disappointed in this restaurant that it is worth noting.
Restaurant Reykjavik is a seafood buffet with a fairly wide selection of seafood but not much else. Not real other sides or anything else but the seafood. And even the seafood that was provided was not nearly as good as many other places we tried in Reykjavik.
We were so excited to try some authentic Icelandic food and this was NOT THE PLACE. Also, it was $60 a person which is absolutely insane. By far, the most expensive meal we had in Iceland.

If you have tons of time and tons of cash to spend, you're probably ok going here. But like most travelers, we were really trying to capitalize on our time in Reykjavik by getting the most of our time there. I would not go back here or recommend this to any traveler.

Great choice of fish and seafood starters, alle the rest also excellent. Be aware that the buffet without drinks is about 50 € per person.

Had dinner here with fellow Road Scholar travelers. Be aware the buffet is $69.50 per person but worth ever $$$ (or krona).
Several kinds of herring, salmon, shark, whale, tiny clams, oysters, salads and for dessert: cheesecake, a meringue like cake and several flavors of ice cream.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant which is centrally located.
