We had the buffet here on a Saturday evening. It was quite expensive (6950 ISK) per person but the food was good. At this price, dessert and coffee was included. They had several seafood dishes to choose from, some beef and of course lamb. There is also a pub in the basement which looked quite cozy.

We ate fish and drank mushroom soup there. Both dishes were very delicious. I also liked the dried tomato bread that they served before the main dish.

We went for the lunchtime seafood buffet - which was great. Gives you a chance to try out various local seafood dishes I would not have ordered otherwise, and gave me a lot of insights (such as two kinds of herring; one with a licorice like sauce!). The lunchtime buffet was quite varied and also a good deal, money wise. Food is expensive in Iceland, and it is wiser to have a big breakfast and lunch, and skip the pricey dinners. .

Given the high prices in Iceland 2200 ISK for a seafood lunch buffet felt like a steal. Also this was good way to try many different seafood dishes that you might not dare to try otherwise!

The select of cold seafood dishes ranged from a couple types of smoked salmon, to herring, to other dishes I have no idea what they were. There were salads and one hot fish dish. All were very good but the highlight was their excellent mushroom soup - really! It was great.

Also there were two desserts and ice cream - both cakes were delicious!

I highly recommend this as a good way to sample the local seafood without going broke.
