Hotel is at good location. Need renovations. Plumbing not good. False fire alarms.
Breakfast is good but most tours start early and time does not fit schedule. They should have separate price with and without breakfast.

We stayed a couple of nights at the Apotek and would happily have stayed longer.
Grear hotel, very imaginatively converted from the historic Apothecary in the City Centre.

Great room, very quiet, really good and spacious bathroom. Occasional noise from other guests, but no real problem. Breakfast first class. Service and reception exemplary.

We eat in one evening and enjoyed it, but it was VERY busy and a bit noisy for our taste. But the food was really good and no problems with the service.
There are cheaper and more relaxing places but this will do very nicely if you don't want to walk out!

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Apotek Hotel. It is so close to everything in downtown Reykjavik. The modernized rooms were clean, well-appointed, comfortable. If you are accustomed to American-style hotels - the rooms would be considered on the smaller-size. The rain shower was great - (part of the geothermal system in Iceland?). Desk staff friendly and easily accessible - freely provided recommendations for downtown eateries, pubs, etc. The hotel has an onsite restaurant - quite upscale and seemed always busy. A few things to keep in mind - 1)- no on-site parking (which is common in downtown Reykjavik); 2) gym and spa facilities are extra. All in all a wonderful stay - recommend Apotek!

We stayed here for 3 nights in March.. The hotel was amazing, the rooms were absolutely spotless.. i would like to mention a lovely girl who worked on the reception desk (i didnt get her name, but she was from Greece) she was so friendly and everytime we came into the hotel or left, she would always say hello and ask how our day was, she was extremely helpful with booking trips etc.. very expensive to stay here, but other then that i cant fault this hotel at all..
